So if you win the lottery don't you have to make T.V. appearances? Are you going to hire an impersonator.:D

Let's not forget the super reliable passenger side door locks.

    Yeah, those, too!

Although, mine hasn't acted up in awhile. I think it was the driver's door actuator in my case.

Of course, it'll probably get all shitty again next weekend now that I said something.

My windshield took a beating on the Alaskan Magical Mystery Tour. Ping pong ball sized hit behind the rear view mirror, an 8" half moon crack in the upper driver side corner, a chalk-line-straight crack that runs from the mirror to the dash and a half dozen rock chips. Safelite has my windshield in stock and will be replaced tomorrow at 9 in the morning.17506899292925395140543925077635.jpg 17506899987172053527778886715569.jpg 17506900485994482791183437262490.jpg

    Oof!

    Safelite repair, Safelite replace!

How much are they charging? My first windshield replacement was a little pricey due to the wiper heater. Luckily I saved on labor because my buddy installed it.

I just got a stone chip in mine on Saturday and I'm not sure if it can be epoxied or not. Looks borderline too big. Maybe I'll get it looked at after work today.

Quality seems hit and miss with these chains.

This is the 3rd replacement windshield on ALF. I heard the horror stories about Safelite but I haven't had any issues. The Ford Transit I used when I was employed had the windshield replaced every 3 or 4 months. IIRC, 5 replacements. No issues there, either.

I think it's mostly a matter of rolling the dice and getting a tech that actually cares about their work. then getting them before they leave and goto their own shop and make more money.

Those? Those are fighting words. You cannot at this point admit to it but the cosmos and I know you HAVE dropped your tailgate and it was loud. Shine on brother while I sleep in the back...

One of the BEST and earliest mods that I use all the time is the backup camera anytime mod. Didn't know I needed it before the Tacoma but wouldn't be without it ever again. Ahhh yes, the glory days of the hand press and how wonderful it was...

Pretty typical. I got lucky the rock hit above the windshield and only left a small dent in the roof. Did you go all the way to Prudhoe Bay? Not sure I heard about that part of the trip. Glad your back.

Not mine, but I dropped the one on my dad’s C-10 back in ‘71! Never again though.

Nope. I kept telling my buddy "Atigun Pass..... Aaatiiiguunnn Paaass.... Brooks Range...Broooks Raaannge." When I told him it would be an over nighter and gas at Coldfoot may be iffy, he wasn't interested. I needed to get gas at Coldfoot or I wouldn't have enough to get back to Fairbanks.
