When I purchased a 2020 Tacoma limited last year in April I noticed the previous owner had left a 3/2 leveling kit on the truck. While personally I mind the rake, I would like to keep the truck level.

This is all to say that my Tires feel a little small for the lift and looks a bit awkward sometimes, I just got new wheels and tires due the stock being at the end of their lives. (Michelin Defenders 265/60/R18s to Toyo Open Country ATIII 265/70/R17s).

I am looking for a lift to restore a bit of rake but bring the body down a little bit. I was thinking either Bilsteins 6112 and 8100s or Falcon Sport Tow/Haul Shocks with adjustments to the front with the clips and a Icon AAL in the rear to basically getting a real lift instead of the spacer lift in the photos.

I was curious if anyone had this shock set up/ tire set up or had any advice going forward. possibly on a set of tires that will look better on the lift.

Also sorry for photo heavy, Photos at top are old tires/wheels and bottom is new ones.

This is a great post. Thank you for sharing. By the way you have a piece of tape hanging off your tire.

Looks like you can use some wheel spacers. That and 285 tires. Replace the rear leafs with like a 110 Dobinson leaf pack. Replace your shocks with something worthwhile, like the Dobinson MRA, Dirt King (Elka), Falcon, Fox, Icon, any 2.5" aluminum adjustable coilover will do. And, remove the front spacers!

Appreciate the reply, and thank you! the tape was from some DNR lands where there was a bunch of trash, went up there to camp and clean.

275/285s are in the future don't worry. Does the Dobinson leaf pack add any height? I was thinking about replacing the 2inch blocks in the rear with a Icon add a leaf for 1.75" in the rear lift. definitely going to remove the spacers.

Skip the 275s as they are heavy and not much of a selection. Go 285s!

I like the look of tires. Far more aggressive, I just think they look a little small on the lift. Honestly 265/70-17s look fantastic on stock suspension but the previous owner blessed me /s with a leveling kit.

You just can't beat the 2" Bilstein 5100 lift for price, performance, and more importantly, handling. And you're CV joints will last longer.....

I have the SCS 16x8” -12mm rims with Nitto 315x75r16 tires on my taco and I absolutely love it. It did require shaving off a portion of the front bumper to allow for full range of motion for off-roading though.

Instead of buying more stuff or changing things around, why not just remove the leveling kit? You will have a bit of the rake and your tires will look great.

No cutting or trimming on mine. 5100s 2in in the front and a 1 in rear. No issues.

I am seriously considering the 5100s and they were my first choice for a while but after seeing the shock value fort he mid budget and finding some Falcon haul/tows I think those might be my next step. it could be that the 5100s would be a good middle point to step up to instead of diving head into $1700 shocks. They were far and away the best at their price point in this series.

Personally I would like to keep it level and avoid getting another alignment on the truck until I do something substantial. if I pay $100 to have it aligned then change the shocks, I'd be double dipping.

what aspect ratio did you pick? I've read that people struggle to fit 285s on the tacoma. also where did you get 1in rear blocks?

It was no trouble at all as I had or local 4wd off toad shop here in town who does all my work install a set of 285/70/17 Toyo AT3s SL rated on a Toyota 4Runner Pro wheel +4 offset. I used a 1-inch tapered bolt in block and the 5100s set on the top setting with a 1/4-inch shim on the driver's side for the lean. Im then went with a rear carrier drop and a front diff drop to keep the drive angles within spec and SUMO bump stops and great alignment. I opened the bottom hole of the factory mud guards and was able to move the guards back about 3/4 of an inch. The wheel and tire combo is about as light as you can get, no hit in the mpgs as I average about 18 to 19 and about 23 on a trip. I also have a great tune and an inline speedometer calibrator, so everything is accurate. My truck drives great and the ride is super nice. My Uncle's 23 Pro drives nice as I personally think the ride is very companiable to it and my neighbor has a 23 Trail with the Bilstein 6112s and again they all ride about the same, maybe the Pro is a little softer on the road nut still very close.

I think the play right now, is I would to level it, and 5100s set to 1.1 inches in the front and remove the blocks in the back would achieve that while giving me the ability to grow into any bigger tires later.

I currently have LT265 /70 R17 112T C1 BSW - with less than 4k miles on them, thinking 5100s are the move because I can grow into them if I ever do step up to 33s I can raise the fronts to 1in and block out the rear.

Is the Taco lean that noticeable? I be heard if it but never really noticed it myself.

What was the damage on the diff drops? I see needle bearings being one of the most common ware items when lifting a truck.
