Watch it be something other than the resistor and it turns out we’re all just a bunch of gas bags

    Good luck man!

Less than 3 months till I hit 40...
Still trying to decide something suitably cool to do.
There's that place outside of Vegas where you get to shoot an M240 from a helicopter, but it's so dang expensive.
Maybe I'll go back to Moab again, go a different route, hit some easier scenic trails.

Start a go-fund-me. I am sure we will all stop modding our trucks for a week to help you. o_O:rofl:

Seriously ... just south of Vegas is "Speed Vegas". For $500 you can get in laps with an Audi R8, Ferrari <several>, Porsche <several>, Mercedes-Benz, etc: https://speedvegas.com/experience/package/overview/

4 days later! The 18th for me.

Lmao I wasn't trying to stealth beg I just have a semi hard time justifying it. It's 700 for the base package, 350 for more ammo, 200 for them to fly NOE into the target area, 600 for a professional photographer, "only" 250 to have someone hold your phone and video you, 100 for the go pro footage from outside the chopper... they really don't hesitate to upsell you. Like on one hand it would be pretty sick to do it and have footage, on the other hand then is it more about "doing it for the gram" than actually ripping a belt of three-oh-hate at a junk car in the desert.

I saw speed vegas too, I think they also offer trophy trucks and you can catch some sick air. I do think it would be pretty sweet to do some hot laps in a McLaren.

Speed Vegas actually you do not catch air ... you are flat to the ground at speed and getting into the low-strung supercars is a chiropractors nightmare. Cornering at those speeds with such phenomenal grip is quite remarkable ... puts Tacos to shame. And the straight-line 10-110 MPH is too much fun. AND ... $1000 will get you 2 supercars.

They are next to the speed track. And Speed Vegas has "drift drivers" who will take one as passenger for high-speed serious drifting that probably makes some people start to lose control of ... well ... yeah ... maybe.

The fault lies not in other TW members but in ourselves.
There are more purchase options in these threads, dear Horatio, than are dreamt of by your budget manager.
I would have kept my 401k if not for you meddling TW people!

Don't get sucked into RC crawling! I thought that a hobby like this would keep me from spending money with you guys and it has. Once you immerse your self into RC crawling hobby you'll find that you'll spend thousands on a rig.

Fuckin' this. Gotta pay to play rings true in everything that I enjoy doing.

Got a wish list of truck parts that never seems to stop growing, I want all the pew pews, would love to upgrade my desk situation at home, AND I'd like to retire at some point. :anonymous:

Now you know why I'm chasing that Bachelor's degree at 33. :jpow:

If function is more important than form, much can be done with 2x4s and plywood. Designed with 2 segments at an angle of 70 degrees or so for stability, making the center supporting legs only 1/2 deep to allow free movement of legs/chair under the desktop ... easy to get away with a couple of hundred $$ for a large desk. Also make it in 4 ft sections that are connected by 3/8 in bolts to lock into a large unit. Not the most beautiful roll-top, but mine was designed to personal requirements so was well-worth my time to create ... and travels with me even on my cross-country moves.

Haha, I appreciate that! I've considered getting a table saw and really building out something that'll last and look the part, but I don't have the time for that while I'm still doing the degree.

The plan is to do a standing desk next, and do something MUCH better for cable management - do the wide screen instead of 3 monitors, etc.

The wife just decided she's going back to school, too, so she'll be getting her desk setup before I do lol. Just grateful for being team DINKWAD, we have two spare rooms that can both be offices.

If you want to see what I accomplished with angle indicators, a drill and a circular saw only ... feel free to stop by and look at what can be done by designing first then cutting/screwing together.. If you want a smaller version of what I made, it would give me a project that had a purpose instead of just building to build.
