I have 2008 tacoma 2.7 recently I had an over heat problem the coolant temperature reached 140C then because of the pressure it blow off the coolant pipe and the coolant was all over the engine, anyway I did replace the water pump+thermostat+coolant temperature sensor+spark plugs+new coolant, checked the head gasket and turned to be fine no harm on it
I did bleed all the air out of the cooling system I restarted the ECU
The problem is when I start the car (cold start only) the car will struggle to start and it miss firing while starting but once it starts everything is back normal (idle, power, temp,…) if i turn off the engine and start it again after 1 hour it will fire immediately ( even checked the fuel pump by turning the key on and off for 3 times and still the same)
Before the overheating problem I didn’t have that cold start issue.
Please if any of you faced the same problem

(also I don’t think it’s a starter motor issue because you can hear it cranks strongly)

Sure sounds like you have a head gasket leak

Can you get a camera down the spark plug hole before you try to cold start it? I suspect you might find some coolant
