My BJ's meat counter is okay. I think I'd still prefer a costco and I have a bananaland vacuum sealer so I could just do my own steaks - it's what I do with pork loin.

Hey @AllTacosFloat question for you, and since this might be usable for others - what temp do you set your fridge/freezer to for freeze pops? 0F?

Costco not labeling their aisles is bananas, though. The Costco near me (Avon) is a dump, so I don't love going and the last time I took the Tacoma it got creamed by a door / carriage to the point it cost me my deductible to repair. I like BJs in Taunton as it's a bit cleaner and less crazy. The BJs in Stoughton and Weymouth are about as dumpy as the Costco in Avon, though.

I've used Costco for tires and batteries and they do have some good food options. I like the BJs app and their bakery stuff more than Costco, though. BJs stopped selling 1/18 Maistos, though, which is a bummer, although I ultimately saturated the market with the 78 Trans Ams on FB Marketplace so I lost my side hustle anyways.

    Some stuff
North America Aldi, is Aldi South Group. Which also owns Winn Dixie and Harvey's

Aldi Nord is Trader Joe's, since the 70s.

I have zero issue with Aldi(either one).

We personally use Costco. Don't think I've ever been to a BJs.

Never been in a MB. Closest one is in Athol.

We have the local rob you blind small grocery in town. Owners are scumbags. But, I'm not gonna expand on that. And no, it's not Mom and Pop, though they try to market that way.

Tend to hit BigY, since it's the closest reasonable option.

BJs must be getting desperate/nervous since Costco opened. I keep getting mailers to renew my membership for less and less every week. Now it’s down to only $10.

TBF all of Stoughton, Avon, and Randolph have become dumpy. That's a big part of why we moved. Gas at BJs in Stoughton was cheaper than anyone else around. I went to the BJs in Taunton a few times, but it's well hidden. There's also one off 495 in Franklin as well.

Costco doesn't label their aisles because the move merchandise around a lot. That gets shoppers wandering through the aisles looking for stuff and encourages impulse buying. I asked a guy that works there and he said that the overnight crews move stuff around all the time.

I've joked that one day I'm going to take one of those big flats that they load furniture on, go to the back, grab one rotisserie chicken and go to check out. The looks I'd get would be hilarious.

I saw 107. My truck spent the day in a parking garage. It read 99 in the garage, got to 107 driving home on the Pike!

I’m currently sweating my nuts off watching my kid’s baseball game.

Stay hydrated. It's easy to get overheated in this weather.

ETA: We have some slight rain storms moving through and it's cooled down to 83 right now. I might have to put on a sweater. ;)

I wish we had a closer Trader Joe's. Closest options are Albany/Halfmoon or Hadley, both of which are over an hour away. Cheap olive oil, chili lime seasoning (great on steak tips), caramelized onion dip, goat milk cheddar cheese, and strawberry rhubarb soda are some of my favorite things there. They also have some amazingly good and cheap frozen meals that are great for lunch at work - I really liked the chicken burrito bowl and I think it was only like $3.

Topped out at 93 here both yesterday and today, but it's always cooler here than most of the rest of the state. It's supposed to be 66 on Friday. I took the week off to burn vacation time and have been doing some house/yard stuff and even 90s are rough. I was sweating like crazy changing the oil on the tractor yesterday. The house itself is fine - we have an 18k BTU mini split in the living room that keeps up with the whole house. I set the living room to 68 and it doesn't seem to work very hard to maintain that. The rooms furthest from it stay around 73.

My truck said 107 when I got in this afternoon. Went down to 100 on the drive home.

Exactly, not to mention they suck at dealing with any actual issues. That's another story..and yes that store is our go to, and rare that stuff isn't there.

Yeah not a fan of that area anyway. Haven't been to the BJs in Weymouth forever.

For us it's Market Bastard, though I drive right by Stop and Slut in Whitman every Monday night so if I just need a couple of things it's nice. Though I won't buy produce there unless it's a huge deal, doesn't seem to last long.

Cupcake's Rav4 hit 109 when I was heading to my doctor's appt after 5. What do I win.

It'll be freeze pops for after a group ride. But I also have a solar panel up top, so I'm less worried about battery.

I didn't know you had a fridge in that bad boy too. So, two fridges and 3 people and it still took 5 hours to make fajitas?

I didn't know costco didn't label their aisles. That would be bananas for me too. Now that we "know" where everything is at BJs, we can be in and out lickity split. I'm not looking for a workout and doing laps to find stuff.

 thanks for the history lesson! I knew there was a north south and didn't know they had more stuff too, pretty cool and also frightening. Our local mom and pop sold out to stop and shop and then shut doors a couple years later when the changes S&S made, obviously, went to shit.

I just go onto reddit and grab someone's referral code every year for 20$.
But I might do the super duper membership, because of how close we are we go often enough, it actually makes sense for us.

It cooled down to 95 when the sun went down down here
I'm a freak, I love this heat, I was out for runs, kayaks, rides - I've been like a pig in mud all week.

Providence, the parking lot is dog shit so we go on the bikes when we can.

That chili lime is just (essentially) Tajin. But they do have some good stuff. Joe-O's or whatever they're called are great, I get those time to time.

    Love the creating naming schemes.

The seasoning they used to have that I haven't found a substitute for is the Ajika Georgian one. They discontinued it and I have found other kind of similar ones but they are still pretty far off.

Interesting. Never heard of it, now I want to try it. We looked for berbere forever a while back.

Please do. I'm surprised that's available to be honest.

When I said WBPD does "traffic enforcement" I actually meant "revenue generation." 106 needs, but won't get for 30 years, one more lane in each direction. Rte 44 between Rte 24 and Rte 3 (got all that?) took almost 40 years to complete the widening process.

BJs in Stoughton labeled the aisles, but it was totally random if any products actually matched the labels.

I have the hawg fridge freezer combo it uses a ton of power and my 100w panel can't seem to keep up unless it's in full sun.
I think the extra fridge space allows me to go extra crazy significantly extending the fajitation process but idk that shits gonna take an eternity regardless and I don't mind:hungry:
