Brake line recall

Yes it is when you have to travel past several Toyota dealers to find one in stock or an available allocation that's for my 3rd choice in color for an SR when I'd rather have the SR5. That's before I even go through the dealer motions and start the buying process. I'm sure there's the possibility I could show up at a dealership and they could find an allocation close to what I want. It makes much more sense to buy a vehicle that's in stock.

 

The question was about our friends to the north buying in the U.S. and jumping through hoops to get it on the road in Canada. I do understand the frustration of not finding exactly what you want, which seems to be the case most of the time.

 

Yeah, there’s several Black or Blue models available (2025) near me that are almost exactly what I want (except colour) but the dealers put stupid add ons I don’t want and won’t remove them. Jacks the price up with garbage I’m going to take off. On top of that the 2024 in the colour I do want is $4500 less than a 2025, I just thought that they’d have a fix for the brake line by now. I literally tried to buy mine the day it was issued. So frustrating.

 

Oh. I recall making the same complaint, I'm sure most Tacomas are more readily available in the US compared to Canada.

 

And then some - models down there I don't think we can even get up here.

 

From my dealer where I have a 2024 TRD OR long bed on hold

"Hello Chris, good news! The remedy for Tacoma recall is out. We're just waiting for the parts and hoping to be released next week"

 

omfg what a relief. In the same position as you, biting my nails, pissing my pants. Well......waiting for a stop sale truck anyway. This is great news.

 

Well at this point I'll believe it when I see it but definitely sounds hopeful

 

I'll try to call my liar tomorrow and see what he says. It would be nice, my truck sits 9 hours away and we are going down next week regardless. Nice bonus if I could bring it home.

 

My dealership said they have no such information. Yours may have a crystal ball mine doesn't.

 

Same here. Just called and they said to call corporate, they show nothing

 

when I had my Blindspot Monitor sensor recalibrated for the towing issue, they had they told me the other recall for the brake lines probably wasn’t going to happen until at least October this year.

 

Well, I'll believe it when I see it, not counting on it but if it happens great. I'm so tired of borrowing vehicles although lately I get to drive a Honda s2000 so that's fun

 

After a long wait, finally got the call from my dealer and picked up my 25' OR yesterday with the new brake line fix.

 

That still looks a little sketch, but maybe I'm overthinking it...

It was a long wait, but my dealer was awesome, they gave me a 3rd gen tacoma back in March as a free loaner truck until the fix was ready.

 

What actually is the fix? A shorter hose with a tighter bend?

 

that's great news. If you don't mind me asking, are you in US or Canada? I've been waiting on the US side.
