Wide-body Comanche looks like a fun back road cruiser. 502991213_1903979190381361_2117938147057_e39129499059e6c7aff1363dd808b4ec2d8a790d.jpg

I like a Comanche. I also really like the AMC era Wagoneers and J10/J20s

Man this dog is a workout on a walk, dude is STRONG and his prey drive goes from 0 to 100 before I can acknowledge and correct the behavior. Feel like I'm just fighting him on a walk with the regular flat collar. Trainer friend suggested keeping with the same correction methods but switching to a prong collar since he's so damn strong. I'm kind of averse to the idea, but might have to give it a whirl for walks at least.

I had a Great Dane who was exactly the same, dude was a menace to walk. We tried the half choker but he did not mind cutting off his oxygen at all…

Finally got turned on to the muzzle lead and it worked wonders! If you can keep his gaze straight and not frantically scanning for the next exciting thing to dart after, you will cut out A LOT of the drama

With Dex I found a harness is a 100x better than any collar. He will still pull if he sees something but it’s much easier to control him. Never tried a prong collar though.

Dex also has a long thicc neck he can straighten out and slip right through any collar so those didn’t last long lol

Dex is probably also a strong dog but man if I put a harness on this guy I think I'm going to relinquish the last bit of control I do have on a walk. Be like hooking a utility trailer to a semi truck.

Also I keep Dex on a short leash, I think the one we use is only 4.5 feet long. Helps keep him close and don’t have to wrangle him back

gotta hook it in the front clip at their chest, cause yeah if you hook it to their back then you become the sled lol. Hooking it to the front causes them to spin themselves sideways when they pull too hard

That’s a good point too! Think we used like a 2 ft leash with the muzzle lead on the Dane.

He’s got to be by your side for you to be able to direct his vision.

My wife wanted to get a retractable leash with him in the beginning and I was like aw helllllllll no lol. We had one of those with our Lab when I was growing up and it was a nightmare. They are good for small dogs maybe, definitely not big ones

We have so many birds up here I thought getting a birdseed feeder would be a fun idea for the kids and to see all the birds. Little did I know how messy these fuckers are. Birdseed allll over the place

Yeah, same here on the leash, I have a long lead and in the park in the early morning with no squirrels or cats we are good on that and he can use all 15' no problem, he doesn't pull or anything. But man a squirrel or a cat will instantly turn him into a tractor pulling legend, like one of those draft horses they used for logging back in the day.

We have 3 total, a short, medium and a 12 ft long one that’s good for leashing him in the backyard when he wants to be out at night to keep him from cornering skunks. I use the medium one when walking him with the stroller, turns out getting your paws run over by stroller wheels kinda hurts. Short one when it’s just us two walking.

My buddy has danes and they're just so big, dopey, and awkward it's hard for me to imagine them actually putting any force behind what they do, but I bet if they do it is hard to handle. Neighbor has a dane too and he's a huge baby, if he's in the yard and I'm walking by with the dog he will bolt up to his porch to get away.

Jesus, that’s a lonnnng way to fall. Surprisingly the article says he’s alive still but in a coma. Says he was suffering from altitude sickness at the 14,500ft summit and just walked right off the edge.

This was as close as I dared get to the edge at the summit when my dad and I hiked it
