Took a therapy day. 2nd attempt to reach the end of Crown Point road, which was blocked near the top a few weeks ago by several 4' snow drifts.
Took the bike down side roads/trails I prolly had no business being on alone. I'll have to see if I can pull up some pics from the other camera. Did the entire trip on street pressure and had no issues at all.

End of the road, around 10,238'. Ate 1st lunch here.

It's a 2 hour rough ride up this road, and people drag horse trailers up here to use this trail. Open to horses and hikers, nothing with wheels allowed. There is a pretty pristine lake at the end of it.

    West Sheep Creek fork.

    East Sheep Creek fork.

Applied this to my chain a few days ago after cleaning all the oil and crap off.

Normally there would be a pretty good oil fling on this side of the bike and burning oil smell from the shit flung on the catalytic converter. Yes, I do wipe the chain off after oiling.
This stuff has some good hang time, no fling, and the "clicking" sound I was hearing went away.

Stopped here for 2nd lunch, 5 hours into the ride.

Did the GPS odometer comparison thing and the bike was over by a few tenths at the end of the day. Seeing as how I filled it with gas and drove it home before starting the GPS, that would be the difference. So the mileage is accurate. Got 79mpg today. I doubt it would do that well on the highway though.

I use the same chain lube, good stuff.

What size Versys do you have? I have been thinking about a Versys 650 or Vstrom 650

I've been offroad a lot less lately, riding alone keeps spooking me, last year I dumped the bike and blew the starter fuse and had to bump start the bike every time after on a trail.

I worry about injury even though I take it easy.

My offroad buddies just can't align with schedule and its frustrating.

Looks like the 300 did great and you had a good day.

I get extra careful (nervous) when I get on some of the lesser traveled roads, especially midweek when the chances of seeing another person are slim.
I worry more about a flat and dealing with a tube than I do a wreck.
