Who the F would buy another hyundai if the other 2 flaked.

I am a firm believer that getting rid of oil based paints was idiotic and leads to vehicles getting scraped and losing value sooner (which is hard on the environment as well).

I also believe that anyone that touts hyundai/kia as anything but a value brand needs to be slapped. They are crap. No one that works at the dealers actually drives their products.

Toyota did screw up white, but they did have a customer warranty extension for some of the models, but its not as prolific.

I’d imagine it has something to do with the combination of manufacturers cutting cost in every way they can and the modern consumerism of treating cars as disposable 5 year products.

I’d be willing to bet that guy’s Hyundai hasn’t seen a protective coat of something on the paint since the lot porter gave it a quick lather of turtle wax that I’m sure was a line item on the invoice he payed to the level of “Toyoguardo_O

I live in central Florida, it’s a harsh environment for car paint but it’s not a death sentence. My truck and my car are garaged, and I pay a little bit extra to have covered parking at work, along with some care, it’s not rocket science. I realize not everyone has a garage and that’s fine, my neighbor does but it’s a full woodworking and ammo reloading shop. He’s outside doing so just as much as I wash my car and truck and his, white by the way, Mazda SUV looks completely fine and gets a simple spray wax every couple months.

I’m not giving the manufacturers a free pass but basic care care inside and out doesn’t take much.

Probably too hot and humid to think about washing the car.

Probably because they mentioned several other brands including Toyota as having this problem.

Until we see photos of a 4G doing it, it’s just another off topic spam thread.

95% of 4G owners would have rather had a Santa Cruz, but it's no longer in the 4G forum where what causes the lift on a preloaded shock and I done forgot what else gets. debated. Oh, CV axles and if the need replacing when the front of the truck gets lifted. Plus miles to empty tank depth and if the gauge gives an accurate distance to empty reading.
