I've got my late Dad's old corded Craftsman hammer drill. I'm not sure if it's 1/2" or 3/8"; there was a time when 3/8" was the "standard" drill and 1/2" was for "heavy duty" use or not too common for DIYers. That drill never misses a beat! It weighs a ton & a half, lol!

Outta curiousity how do you organize your trail tools? I have a tool roll but I've got a rubber mallet and a big cheap HF breaker bar I gotta do something with haha.

Not the original poster…I have an Apache rifle case on my cab rack. Inside of that has my long breaker bar that runs along the side of it. I have a small tool bag for my rubber mallet and 4 pound sledge along with some misc items for the trail fixes that I don’t want in my roll or don’t fit. I also have a tire patch hit, jumper cables and a tow strap…most importantly a flag that’s rolled around the pole in a protective sleeve that I put up when camping in that case. You could put the breaker bar and mallet “loose” in the roll and roll it around them to keep it all together.

Sorry Nick, just realized I never replied to you. I keep a tool roll myself for sockets, wrenches and Allen’s. Then I have 2 larger bags with a mini sledge, pry bars, screwdrivers, different pliers, spare axle, tie rods outer/inner, and other misc. parts. As for recovery gear I keep that seperate also, all sorts of items. Some in the turbo storage and some behind the seats. Depending on what it is and how often I need it.

I have several Craftsman ratchets I've had for a long time. We recently bought a camper trailer and I picked up a few things at Harbor freight like wheel chocks and a jack foot. I'm putting together a tool kit for the camper and decided I needed a new ratchet. So I picked up this Icon... I may put a craftsman in the camper tool kit and keep the Icon in my everyday toolbox. It has a nice, solid feel to it.

I have a similar old Milwaukee 1/2" Magnum Hole Shooter. So much torque in that old beast. There've been a few times over the years that I wondered how I didn't break my wrist when the drill bit stopped turning and the drill body took off.
