Cruise control has gone bad on my 2003 Toyota Tacoma Crew Cab. Dealer ship told me the cruise control switch was bad and that the part was discontinued and they could be of no help. Indicated that the part number was 84630-0C010. Much searching does seem to indicate that the part is discontinued. But, being a GT grad I was able to track down said part #. Ordered part. New part has two wires going to a six pin connector. Existing part has three wires going to a six pin connector with the third going to a flat spade connector. see attached image.

upload_2025-6-29_8-30-50.jpgHere is the image. Old switch has the third black wire. New switch on right does not have third black wire.

Why don’t you just transfer the wire over? It is likely just a ground wire

That is what I did once I figured out how to remove/install the pins/plugs, I was a nuc engineer in the navy, not an electrician. Swapped the wire out, installed the new switch and the cruise control still does not work.

Are you sure the switch was bad? Was the cruise not working and you assumed the switch was bad, or did you have some reason to suspect the switch was bad?
