Anyone Have Experience With P285/70 17 Nitto Terra Grapplers?

i just ordered a set of p rated 285/70 17 terra grapplers and does anyone have experience with them? i could have gone with the heavier e-rated terra grapplers but i dont off road or tow with my prerunner. i think the e-rated tires were 10lbs heavier and that would relate to more gas consumption. you guys think i made the right choice? p.s. current tires are c rated 265/70 17 bfg t/a ko's.

 

I have P rated in 265/70/17...they are rated higher than stock, so that is fine. I had dunlops stock and I didn't see much of a change in gas mileage, I get about 17 mpg with about 1/2 highway and 1/2 city driving. My truck is my daily driver, these tires are a great ride, low noise and have held up really well. I've had them on for about 2 1/2yrs.

I have that exact 285 4ply NTG. It improved my mileage a little bit. Got some power back too coming from my previous bf mt's. Only thing I dont like is it can only take 35psi max. Off road, I try to stay away from rocks but still works as good!
Overall very good on road tire that you can go off road with.

 

thanks for the review boost junky. i don't off-road so i think it would be a great on road tire. i figure with gas prices going up, choosing the 4 ply tires will make economical "cents".

 

Boost what are you getting for milage with that 285

 

I meant to put these up yesterday. Had exactly these tires put on my stock rims... 285/70R17 Nitto Terra Grapplers. Out the door at Discount Tire for $944 including all fees and shit. Only rubbing is at full lock in reverse.

I'll try to get some pics loaded with the new tires. I should have gotten these from the start. Even with p rated tires, I can still notice the difference compared to c rated bfg t/a
K/o's. They are both roughly the same weight but I noticed the loss of power and braking distance.

heres my new 285/70 terra grapplers installed, along with the grillcraft. my brother came over and saw the new tires and said he couldn't tell the difference. he actually thought the tires were regular car tires because of the thread pattern. looking at my old pics with the t/a ko/s, the t/a k/o's thread pattern looked more aggressive. btw, pic is iphone quality.

 

I know this old, but what is the average MPG with P28570r17?
