Toyota Motors has absorbed the increase of cost of vehicles since news started of "the word" I cannot use, but you all know what I am talking about. July 4th is the deadline before you begin to see huge price increases on NEW inventory. With the increase of prices on new, expect the prices of used to also increase. If you've been putting off the purchase of your new vehicle please wait no longer. Respond or come in and ask for me as soon as you can.

I'm in Metro Phoenix and have not received such a mailer, but I'll respond again if I do.
Sounds like some kind of one-off-promo to drum up sales. I got a crisp $1.00 that says his lot is full of 4th Gen Trucks.

Very common tactic at dealers. It's always a good time to sell, and a good time to buy.

That said, there's no more wait times finally after years of covid delays, so its KIND OF true.

Personally you should phone the dealer and tell them to take you off their mailing list. You'll still get recalls.

Sounds like a Scare Tactic to try to get us to trade in our 3rd Gens. Don’t fall for it.

I got a call yesterday from the dealer who sold me my truck in Mesa. They wanted to offer me top dollar for my truck and they were eager to "take it off my hands" and get me into a new truck. I didn't return the call.

Took my daughter car shopping yesterday. They kept sweetening their offer to us as we kept hesitating to pull the trigger. I was amazed how much they came off of MSRP. I definitely felt like they were struggling to sell vehicles.

i tell them i'd love to sell my 2018 truck for $85k. don't worry, it's entirely stock, and well maintained.

hard to bother someone that's priced themselves out of the market...

Urgency is a sales tactic, plain and simple.

Not sure why he can't say "the word" but I guess we'll see if it actually happens. If it does, our used trucks value will increase too (according to him).

    They're not absorbing shit

    Its a marketing tactic

Car manufacturers make cars. Dealerships try to make deals and pretend like time is running out. I don't see either of those things slowing down any time soon

In other news, water is wet

Same here. They called me for quite a while wanting my 2021. I kept telling them I'll take $75,000 in cash and was
willing to self-finance on approved credit with 50% down and 25% interest. After another 5-6 calls I started using
    four letter words with them.

I put my daughter in a 2025 Crosstrek about a month ago, just before they increased the prices up to $2,500.
Got a decent deal on a loaded vehicle. Fortunately I was able to kick in some down-payment so her monthly is just a
hair over $300 for 48 months. I'm gonna do everything I can to help pay it off within 2 years. She'll have a good quality
    vehicle for the next decade.

That’s what we were looking at. Didn’t pull the trigger though. They came 12.5% off of MSRP. I was kinda impressed by that.

I'm not sure what the hell is going on either, as I just received several mailings telling me my car warranty is about to expire! But I also just got a letter from Ed McMahon telling me I might have already won the Publisher's Clearinghouse jackpot! So I am hoping the two will balance each other out.

I have seen 4gens sitting on the lot for four months and still sitting there. I’m not saying sales are down but I have seen them not selling.

I get an email about every month or month and a half telling me to come on in and they’ll give me 110% of the value of my truck on a trade-in. I have the perfect truck now. Why would I want a payment and have to start modding something new?

Do I want a new vehicle? Yes. Do I need a new vehicle? No. My 3rd gen drives exactly the same as it did new 9 years later with 72k miles.
