My friend's house is just up the hill from where the meet was held, and he has a metric shit-ton of vintage A/C units in various stages of repair. This one technically works, but it has no freon in it, and is in need of a full restoration...

My friend's house was built in 1966 and he is in the process of renovating it, including the kitchen. This is the original, fully functional wall oven!

My friend HATES central air and newer window A/Cs, so he exclusively uses vintage window units to it. The house has gas heat, but no central air. This window unit is located in the garage...

This is the 1970 Carrier Cosmopolitan that my friend picked up from my other friend's property on Friday. Turns out that a fan blade was stuck, and the unit works great!

Even in the 1960s when my EQK was built, manufacturers of window A/C units purposely built them without holes in the base pans. This allowed both condensation and rainwater to pool in the bottom of the unit, which ultimately resulted in rust and would drastically shorten the service life. I have no idea how long my EQK was in service, but it looks almost new and had been in the basement of a townhouse since the 1980s. Now, this beast ready for another half century of service, rust-free!
