Common practice for Wide loads. Normally needs permits and escort vehicles, depending on the state.

That thing don't even have a wideload banner or what ever that's called. They aren't going to see nothing but the load in those mirrors, like you said permits and escort vehicles are often necessary. I don't know what the requirement is but sometimes the police will follow, I guess if the load spends a lot of time in more than one lane. Like everything else that could be AI, not that I wouldn't believe someone would drive like that on a highway. Anytime I've seen forms like that on the road they are being pulled by a class 8.

Lane width on the Interstate is 12', 8'-6" is considered Wideload, over 12' will require pilot(s). That thing is already over that, may just take both lanes to ride in the middle so lanes on both sides have some room.
Some states would allow "local delivery/transport" without permit or pilots, mostly less than 10 air miles.

Again, permits and pilots cost money.

People will pull guns on other motorists when the get annoyed on the road around here. I wouldn't go annoying anyone intentionally. Who every is the most homicidal in those situations usually win. Probably unlikely to happen in a parking lot by someone driving a Tacoma.

Yeah they can fit in a spot, it doesn't bother me if someone parks like that, I used to make a living off of it. I usually park far enough away where people won't park in a spot next you. Riding motorcycles is more dangerous than the road rage escalators. I saw a lambo of some sort taking up mutiple spots in a crowded garage the other day. I get wanting to protect it but why'd you drive it to start with.

it only really annoys me when people do it at the front of the lot where other people can park at.. if you wanna do that ight go to the very back of the lot and dont be annoying to the rest of us. how did you make a living off it?
yaaa it can be but its also fun so i keep doing it lol.

those cars kinda get a pass to me tbh if it cost several hundred thousand dollars ight kinda makes sense to do that and be a bit further away.

What annoys me is people in the fire lane of strip malls. You are in the way, there's ample parking 10' across the way, you have no problem walking, and they are at the liquor store or getting take out. It's mostly because you are in the way. Some dumb ass the other day pulls from the curb going the wrong way while I'm going past their lazy ass. Entitlement and lazyness go hand in hand.

    I am so
    Sidetrack
My only experience with moving wide loads was moving buildings and large industrial objects (oil tanks, parts of refineries) 15-20 years ago.
Regular (2 bedroom, 1 bathroom) one story house was allowed to be moved during the day, even if we had to take up two lanes, but if it involved interstate, it was on week-ends only. Pilot cars in town and out of town in both cases. Had a moron once blow past the rear pilot truck (I was in the front one ) and just about ended up with an I-beam in his face.

Two story and up were night moves only, within the specific time window. We paid for the utility lines to be disconnected (if needed), pilot cars, road closures, police traffic control. Sometimes it was still cheaper to move a building than to demo it.

Side sidetarck. When Abbot was expanded and the curve from Dimond to Abbot was smoothed out past the New Seward Hwy bridge (Anchorage, AK), we moved a large two story building from Dimond/Abbot intersection down the road about 2 miles, put on the new foundation, connected the utilities and it was back in business. Took a couple of weeks to raise it up, move overnight, put it down the next day. Winter in AK, so digging holes for the jacks and dollies was not fun.

I usually park at the top of a lot almost as far away possible. While my wife complains sometimes, she understands. I try no to be an ASSHOLE, only an asshole. If someone doesn't like it TS; they probably have more paint peeling off their vehicle than most others.
Enjoying a sunny back yard on the back deck on a Monday morning at 11:15AM.

Just ran across this thread this morning... lol

The real Assholes are those that park in a handy cap spot (legally) and the passenger gets out and goes in to the wherever and the driver never gets out, (and I am talking about working age adults) all they are doing is taken up a (most of the time) limited parking spot when all they have to do is park somewhere else and then pick up the person in need at the door... I see it almost every month when I go see my Chronic pain dr as well as other places... I have seen people using walkers having to walk long ways due to these assholes...

At the gym I go to (the only business there,) I often see drivers going up and down the parking aisles until they find a spot close to the entry doors, or parking in non-parking areas close to the doors. I guess these people don't want to have to walk very far to go exercise.
