Should for sure! To each his own how it's decided to carry firearms. I have a firearm (semi-auto) in every room of my house locked and loaded (two of which sit on each side of our bed in a mattress holster). My shotgun sits under my bed. I have 6 rounds in the shotgun but no round in the chamber.
It's how I was taught, hopefully I'll never have to find out if i was right or wrong.

 

I'm just messing with you, my pump shotgun is locked up.

I have a solid resting bitch face and one [asshat] neighbor said my body language made me look like a cop
I went to a 6A High School - half the kids were bussed from the projects and it was 100% eat or be eaten, no middle ground
I had to fight once at each school - once I proved I would hit back and do damage, I was physically left alone [still verbally harassed]
So I am always watching my ass and everything else around me
Always on alert/head on a swivel


Where I live is super safe - I am grateful for that - last 'break in' around here was 15+ years ago -
Shit at my Walmart is mostly not/locked/up - including shotgun ammo
I'm not on alert here but I am always aware of my surroundings/people - got some sketchy folks come outta these woods round here [some super bougie ones too but ya never know what's down that gravel drive sometimes]

That being said, I am a firm believer that when you get too complacent, that's when you get fucked
I still lock my doors [unless i'm outside] and always lock my vehicle in the driveway - even tho in close to 20 years less than 5 randos have come back here
There is always a firearm within reach [this is a true thing for most of my neighbors too]
And there is my 110# dog + my neighbors pit bulls + the doberman + you get the hint

 

and for the converse of that...

i bet you can't find one case of a hot chick with a fat man, who also happened to be rich . . .
women are just as shallow

 

Yea but if you don't wanna hose the crap off your porch or talk to the cops, the shotgun might make em leave on their own
