    Exactly.

but some people in this thread declare she can’t possibly be an informed automotive journalist because

Did anybody actually read the article? It's essentially the author's op-ed regarding the CR report, and it's pretty clear she doesn't exactly agree with the CR ranking.

Regarding the 4G Tacoma not being ranked at the top, she wrote: "In our opinion, this is the true shocker on the list."

And regarding the Ranger being at the top of CR's list, she wrote: "And, yes, we are surprised by this. Considering that we recently reported that Ford Motor Co. is the most recalled brand out there (by a lot), we expected Ranger to be a bit lower on the list."

The end of the article even concludes with: "There is a lot of estimating and predicting that go into these reliability rankings [...] At the end of the day, only you can judge what suits your life, tastes and needs, and if you take care of your truck with proper maintenance, chances are it will take care of you – no matter what you buy."

She literally has the exact same response and sentiments as every fanboy on TW, except seems much more eloquent and educated ... just saying.

I did not rember reading anything disparaging about the 4G from what she wrote.

I get it, it's Consumer Reports, if you throw in KBB who ranks the resale value of Toyota trucks high. I don't know what JD Power says, but if you take all of that info you can get a more clear picture of any vehicle, or you can ignore it all. I brought up the 5G 4Runner was considered slow by the author, it was still probably the best BOF midsize SUV you could buy in 22. Resale value today should be good and after three years it's probably dependable.

    Now you're talking!

Jeez, I guess I was right.... The current cliental for the Taco has richer tastes, not the typical; middle class work shlub, LOL. Nothing wrong with it, but folks get excited. Anyway, I do not believe 14" screens, ball coolers and HDU's are regulations.

The current clientele for the Taco is the middle class working schlub that wants what they can't afford but buys it anyway by taking loans they can't afford and racking up even more debt.
