Thank you for my birthday wishes.

Ned, hope you are keeping well my friend.

The kids are packing up and going home early today...to try and beat traffic!

Eldest & her hubby left first...they have a 100 mile trek to MD just northeast of Baltimore...that 95 can get super busy on a Sunday.

Youngest & her hubby went on a bike ride early this morning and will pack for their shorter trip up north the Wilmington.

The weather has definitely changed since Friday when I went to Indian River Inlet and had misty/windy waves crashing on the shore.

It's been a nice weekend with family...of course, I had a nice German Chocolate cake with the number 59 on it.

I'm glad the kids still enjoy coming over to visit...gives them a break from their routine so it's a win-win! lol

I've had a great Birthday weekend.

Gotta say goodbye to June.

Next up, 4th of July.

We don't do fireworks at home.

Seen enough Fireworks in my 25 year USAF career in far off locations outside the US. (1986-2011)

250 years and we are a young country.

I'll be looking towards the sky and be grateful for Family.

I'm a year older but these work cats are still older than me! lol

Ever since I can remember during my USAF career, every time I tool military leave, I would come back to a mess I'd have to sort out.

It just never fails...even as a civilian. (I've been retired 14 years and still transitioning) lol

So, for those of you who feel like your job/individual duties doesn't matter...here's a reminder that YOU do make a difference! lol

For those who could give two rats-ass, never mind. lol

I'm feeling a bit facetious this morning...so ignore my entry for today...or not! lol

 

Sometimes I feel like coming back to work from vacation is so stressful because of all the missed work, that it’s almost less stressful to just not go on vacation

 

It almost doesn't pay to go on vacation because of the mess that is waiting for you upon return! lol

But that's work, for you (and me...and the rest of us worker bees).

 

I only ever had one job that work piled up when I was on vacation. If I wasn't there someone else had to do it

 

I'm glad you didn't experience what I've endured since I can remember from my military career.

It wasn't until I became a supervisor in 1990 and was given responsibilities that applied accountability affecting evaluation/promotion ratings.

What happened during my tenure was a term referred as, "Do more with Less."

There were Logistics duties that were merged together such as mine...which was Material Facilities Specialist and merged with additional Supply duties creating a new Career Field Identifier.

I went from Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC) 645X1 (Material Storage & Distribution) to 2S0X1 that included Blue Suit Supply office jobs...can't think of the AFSC title.

EDIT: The other AFSC was 645X0, Inventory Management--645X1 and 645X0 were combined.

Anyway, since becoming a civilian worker, I've been in single-point-failure positions with limited coverage.

Hey Eric,

Boy, I sure can remember some activities from my time in the military...

I guess I rambled on about one experience that still effects me today. lol

One expression I can recall is this: "work is a 4-letter word."

Too bad we aren't given more time to devote ourselves to "other than" the madness that is work. lol

Man! I gotta stop analyzing things.
