    Hey guys,

First post so don’t drag me lol.

I’ve been searching around for a few days, and over time is become more confusing than helpful.

I am looking to get the 2020+ full LED OEM lights on my 2019 TRD OR. I have the halogen with led DRL I believe.

From the sounds of it, I should talk to @Puppypunter for a harness.

I have found some cheaper sets on ebay, parts number (81110-04290) & (81150-04290) with broken tabs. I have discovered the TW user selling repair tabs, so I’m confident I can repair them to save some money.

Is there anything else I should be aware of? Any tips to save more money? I’m looking to get this done below $600.

    TIA

I can definitely help with the harness. As to the headlights, sounds like you found a good deal. I don’t have any personal experience with the repair tabs, but I’ve heard first hand good things about them. Seems like a good value. I’ll shoot you a PM on the harnesses

Same user also sells his repair tabs on eBay. Sounds like you’ve already done the homework on all of this.
My only concern going used would be how the previous owner treated them. Are the lenses scratched to hell? Were they garage parked or parked facing the sun all day? Are they oem or used clones?
Look at the 4th of July Toyota parts sales coming up on all the dealer websites. I know you said $600, and new ones won’t get that low even on sale, but just sayin’…

I almost went this route, it seems like most of the assemblies on eBay are from accidents and being sold by parts yards. It's hard to really tell the condition of the lens and internal electronics from the pictures. I'd definitely ask for more pictures that highlight cosmetic damage, it seems they mostly focus on the tabs.

While not $600, you can get a new pair on sale during holiday sales for around $1100 shipped..

I bought a set of headlights from a wrecking yard for $400 for the pair. Each one had a broken tab. They came with the broken parts so it was an easy repair.

I bought some cheap harnesses which needed work to get them to work.

In the end it is all working but the best route for the harness is @Puppypunter - That will make the swap easy.

I was able to source a pair of lights for roughly $375 through eBay. A wiring harness through @Puppypunter was $60, and repair tabs off eBay was $20. All in for $455 taxes and shipping included.

Yes, I will get what I paid for. I looked over the postings, and the housings are relatively scratch free and the tabs should be pretty easy to fix.

Yes, it will not be as easy as buying a new set from Toyota.

And yet, at the end of the day, I got all parts necessary for the swap for the cost of a cheap Chinese set. I’ll take what I get and learn from there.

Thank you all for the input (@Puppypunter big shout out to you. Your harnesses are extremely reasonably priced) and I hope to see you guys around! :fistbump:

@Puppypunter, I did not know harnesses can go as low as $60. I will stop defaming you by suggesting it may cost $200. :anonymous:

Just tell everyone they’ll go for $300, then they will think they are getting a deal…
The $200 option is definitely my claim to fame though :D

Honestly…. With all the Chinese garbage out there I might’ve still gone with the $200 :spending:
