I would only agree if they did a state wide bulletin and did it for a couple months before. There would be so many ass fucks trying to stop you around here.

I know they did a pretty big advertising campaign pre-change, sent out mailers, etc. but who knows how effective it'll be. I'd expect most riders to get yelled at or be in danger for at least a year or two

I am sure plenty of lawsuits the first couple years. Huge plus for motorcycle lawyers.

Installed ABS kill switch this afternoon. Wired direct to the fuseblock with it's own fuse.
Works on the fly, off and the ABS light comes on and the brakes work like the engineers intended them to. On and the light goes off and the brakes work like the lawyers intended them to. No other lights, everything works.
Drove it home with ABS off and now I think I could have just yanked the fuse and been done with it. :rofl:I prefer to be the ABS, that's how I learned to drive.

My ADV bike has it and I cant even make it trigger, but on my dual sport I lock up brakes like a goon.

I think it has a place with some bikes but agree, give me the option to turn it off.

The ABS on this bike is super sensitive, it clicks and twangs on dry pavement, not even a hard stop. Dirt is absolutely ridiculous. Pretty sure in a panic situation it will simply let the bike plow into whatever I'm trying to avoid.

    My Triumph bonneville has abs.
    My yamaha tw200 doesn't.
    Both bikes are perfect.

I think rider aids have their time and place. I haven't ridden a bike with abs, but not for any specific reason. I've definitely had a crash I can safely say would not have happened if I had abs. Luckily it was minor, but still

Morning riders, 20% chance of rain today which means riding to work. Thursday is the same weather so riding again tomorrow.
Hope everyone has a good and safe day today.

Right good thing I have a 55 zone out here WFOY then 35 upto 45 then 55 again that's when I make my turn onto a 35 again. On an old air head I kinda put around.
I kinda am a little gun shy because I haven't been on the motorcycle regularly in a long time. I don't really like going into town on 2 wheels.

Totally understand that. People are idiots around bikes, but the only way to build the confidence is to keep riding. You got this!

noice! how much of a pain was it to wire it up? it looks factory finish thou! id add a label so (if you do sell it) it states what it is lol.

after riding and cough cough crashing cough cough a bike without abs im kinda 50/50 with it... i love it for daily riding and when rain or slippery stuff shows up. buuut if im on gravel it is rather annoying!
have a safe ride in! it was a great ride in for me! gf was to tired so she opted to drive her car! first time that thing has moved in over a month!

Thanks! It does need a label, the switch has been in the garage tool box for decades, so it didn't have the little on/off tag anymore. I bet if I dig around I'll find one. Wasn't bad at all to wire up, just kind of fiddly at the fuse block to get the wiring clean. Nothing was cut and spliced, it's plugged in where the original fuse went in, now the fuse is in-line with the switch. I soldered some spade ends to the wire so it would plug into the fuse block.

Morning commute was a little chilly. 65 degrees has a bite to it when you are used to it being 75-80 in the morning.

Also, took my tall windshield off and put the stock tiny wind deflector back on to see how much of a difference it made, and get a better feel for what riding a naked bike is like, to have more data for the next bike purchase. I can say I missed the windshield this morning, but I love not having it in the afternoon when it is 90 degrees.

Sadly, not the first time. Wondered if they forgot the loctite when they re-geared me. Had a couple back out. This time had multiple... They warrantied the first time, and the guy is trying to get it warrantied again. Hasn't been going well, I'm ready to just pay, but my mechanic said to give him some more time.
