For anyone interested in the river kayak trip, here's a general outline of the plan.. Some details may change. This is just what I'm thinking as of now:

Friday we'll meet at the HWY 14 ramp in Spring Green and unload kayaks and gear. Depending on attendance 2 or 3 guys will head to the Boscobel landing and leave a vehicle there, while at least one will stay and keep an eye on the kayaks and gear, and work on getting things ready to go.

When the others get back, we'll finish getting the loaded up and get on the water. We'll float/paddle until around 6pm (we can take a break periodically to stretch our legs).

Around 6-ish, we'll start looking for a good island to set up on. We'll set up camp and eat, and I plan on doing some fishing.

In the morning, we'll eat breakfast, have our coffee, or whatever your morning routine is, and get back on the water by 9. We'll keep floating and padding until around noon, and find a nice spot for a break. We can have lunch, BS, fish, whatever for an hour, and then get back on the water.

Well keep moving until around 6 again and look for a good campsite for Saturday night. Repeat the same, set up, eat, BS, fish, drink, sleep, breakfast, load up, and head back out.

Sunday we'll float to Boscobel, pull out, and run back to Spring Green for the rest of the vehicles. Load up, and head out.

Since we'll be leaving vehicles unattended, I recommend clearing out any valuables and pretty much anything you're not bringing on the kayak.

You'll want to keep your camping setup compact and simple. Think of it like a backpacking trip. I'll be packing freeze dried camping meals for ease of preparation and clean-up.

If you have a little backpacking chair, it would be good to bring. Mine kept sinking in the sand on my last island camping trip, so I was considering getting some tennis balls and cutting holes in them to put on the feet. I'm open to other ideas if anyone else has experienced this.

I'll try to get some more details in here soon.

Let me know if anyone has questions or ideas.

also, I have a spare kayak and Jonathan has offered his canoe if anyone is interested but doesn't have a kayak or canoe.

Just an FYI: it's about 1.5 hours round trip from Spring Green to Boscobel. So, there will be a little bit of waiting around on Friday and Sunday.

I ended up in a different lot than the usual one but still got surrounded by fellow Tacos.
