Well shit. Didn’t know parts stores don’t loan out scanners. Anyone in SE king county have a scanner I can borrow?

    How SE, I'm in Kent?

Parts stores will run the codes for you. Were you not in the rig you wanted to test?

EDIT: apparently I'm in SW king county... lol.

I’m in maple valley, like 20 min away. I ended up just buying a cheaper one for 60 bucks from NAPA. My Tacoma doesn’t want to start and not sure why. Could be a blow fuse, missing ground or something else. Just put my truck back together and trying to try it aligned tomorrow morning,

There was a guy having all kinds of running issues on his 3rd Gen. After a long while searching around, he found the ground on the transmission was loose. Fixed everything.

Didn’t throw any codes when I ran the scanner but I might have solved it. Was missing one connector from the harness in the driver side. It actually tried to crank but sounded like it didn’t have enough juice. I had the battery on a tender most of the time it was out of the truck but not the last 2 days or so when we were welding it up. I tried jumping it from my wife’s car but it was acting all weird. Threw the tender back on and I’ll try again tonight.

Total PITA to properly run 37s ugh.

I feel that. Staying with 32s for now because I don't want to deal with a CMC or an alignment. Hahaha!

With the right wheels and tires you could definitely run 33s without a cmc but yeah you would need an alignment to the tires forward more. I have a lifetime alignment from Firestone, probably have been there 10 times in the last 4 years lol. Getting one right now actually.

Firestone loves when you have the lifetime on a modified 4x4. Get grief every time I go in

I'm at -10 and will rub both front and rear at times. Or at least I have witness marks on both sides. Haha!

The lifetime alignment is very cool, but the guys at Omni in Totem Lake have a magic touch. Not sure what they do, but our stuff seems to drive spookey good afterward.

I have the Firestone lifetime alignment as well for a few of our vehicles , and find the service and execution inconsistent for the Taco, so I didn’t use it on my last alignment when I went 35”s (on 16x8-20) and Accutuned UCA.

I went to Omni Brake & Alignment in Kirkland who actually listened to what was needed and I’ve been happy with it.

I’ll continue to use Firestone for our vehicle that are stock.

They don’t do it on lifted vehicles anymore apparently but I’m godfathered in lol. It’s always hit or miss depending on who’s working that day but a guy here knew everything about aligning Tacomas but he just left recently. I just make sure to tell them to max out caster and get the toe straight and don’t touch anything else. Also need to check the torque on the cam bolts too cuz they won’t loctite it and seems loose as hell sometimes (I bet to have return customers…)

I forgot if you’re an Avants member but there’s a shop around there too that does custom alignments as well and will work on adjustable UCAs too. Maybe it is Omni…I just need to learn how to do my own and skip this crap.

I’m not a member, but will consider it now with my new car addition. Are there folks on there that offer “side hustles” for installing mods and service?

Not sure and if so, I think avants would shoot it down since they offer discounts to official businesses. I got a discount that paid for my membership itself and more when I regeared through Mule and when I got ppf done for my wife’s car.

Tire mounting and alignments at home would be amazing.

I mount my bike tires and tried swapping the spare to a matching size. That almost broke me. The wild part is that somehow @Bertw192 's old KBro came out balanced perfectly by accident. No idea how that happened.

I pretty much want a set of BLs just to mount shit at home easily.

that’s lame, but understandable. I need some PPF work done as well.
