I decided to get the kayak out this weekend, which led to booking a site at Buckhorn in Necedah. There's a cool looking area on the Yellow River that I scoped out a few years ago. I'm finally going to give it a shot.

Just finished setting up a little while ago and having a beer while I catch up on TW.

I had a picture to attach, but my reception is too weak here.

Sit Rep 3 - some bad news.

Enroute to Bozeman MT, the engine died again at low idle when stopping at a small town gas station. After talking with Torfab more, the leading theory is air getting into the fuel system somehow, and/or a vacuum leak. Made it to Billings, MT and spending the night at hotel #2 (no hotels were planned for this trip).

The 80 is getting shipped to Torfab at their expense, either tomorrow or Friday, most likely. I'll probably have to fly to Seattle and get a rental Tacoma to continue the journey, grab my gear from the 80, and meet my cousin somewhere near Vancouver. The saga continues, but we're pushing on.

Every day I wake up feeling like it's Saturday or Sunday. In way it is, except for having a doctor's appointment.

Amazing what some sleep does. Looked at the mess this morning in the parking lot rather than the wilderness and seems manageable. The knuckle is definitely bent. Badly. Amazing from such a slow hit. I was in 4low and hardly moving. A known weak spot that I have turned a blind eye to. Not any more. However, fix that and what let’s go next down the chain? Tire is going to be fine. I will use it only as a spare from now on. Going to take off the mirror and wait for parts to get here…. Patiently. Sharon is worried about the legality of only having one mirror-I am not. She was amazingly calm yesterday so she can worry that mirror issue all she wants

Oh there will be some mods all right
I must confess I would have bet $100 that you had gusseted spindles. The fact that you didn't blows my mind. This isn't me purposely picking on you or digging at your character, it's just that you're such an off-roader I assumed that you probably already bent a spindle before and were now on gusseted ones lol

Yep, he will be on his bike - it's pretty sweet! He's been a great traveler too and rolling with the punches.

I'm a little down about all of this, but things happen. I'm figuring out rental transportation and what the best option will be.

I would totally come heckle you otherwise. Good luck with your repairs and getting back into action

One suggestion I have would be to purchase a satellite communication device, like a Garmin Inreach. Just in case you run into issues without any signal somewhere. You'll probably never need it, but something to think about

Perfect! I wasn't sure if you had one, but I'm glad you do. I want to continue experiencing your camp chef meals

We had one bar of service where we got into trouble so at least I could have called for help. Is good knowing that thing is in the truck though

Set up and ready. Parts sometime between now and 10 mountain time. A great song by Joe Bonamassa of that name. Going to wait on disassembly until I have said parts and know they are right
