ASSHOLE PARKING

I always fold in the towing mirrors on my truck. Driver's side if I'm on the street and both sides in a parking lot unless I'm parked in the last spot in the last row at work, as I usually am (then only the driver's side again).

 

A family friend when I was young was a disabled WWII vet. He left a leg on Iwo Jima. He was in his 70's when I knew him, hobbled around on a prosthetic leg, I think from the hip as I recall. He had a parking tag but rarely used it. He said he wanted to make sure those spaces were available if someone more disabled than him came along. Now that's consideration for your fellow man.

I don't have any photos but I've seen my share of bad parking and jerk behavior over the years. Human nature is what it always has been; there will always be entitled jerks and idiots out there, as well as decent, considerate people. I just try my best to stay in the latter category and mind my own business.

A long time ago, back when I was young and dumb, there was an event out of town that I wanted to attend. Something was wrong with my car, don't remember what, so I took the old farm truck instead, a 1970's rusted-out Chevy.

I got to where I was going and could only find one parking space, a tight squeeze next to someone parked crooked. As I recall, most of the row was crooked because of some construction at the end or something, don't remember exactly except that it wasn't my fault. I squeezed in and went in to the show.

When we came out several hours later, that old truck was sitting there crooked and lonely; the other cars had left. As I got in I noticed a note on the windshield: "If you drive like you park, leave it on the farm"

 

Oh I was about to but I first looked to make sure he hadn't damaged anything, plus get a picture of his truck and plate just in case.

He just stared at me dumbfounded when he walked out and a part of me hoped he'd mouth off so I could really tell him what I thought. Guy was half my size, then again never know if someone has a weapon..

 

Same.

 

It happened once...

I was at my corner store and these young adult males were playing in the parking lot..
It was instinct - as soon as he touched my truck, I just screamed at him

 

At a shop I worked at years ago, the store manager had a brand new Hemi truck when they 1st came out with the 20" wheels on them and he was very anal about the truck, well one day I kept noticing him glaring at a customer (that was spending some money lol) had his kids playing around his truck, well he almost lost his shit when the customer put his kids in the bed of his truck... He had to gather his shit up and walked out there and asked the guy to please remove his kids from the customers (really his) truck that it was against company policy due to liability issues, but he was really just wanting to beat the guy with in an inch of his life....

Time and place for me to park like a asshole, ALWAYS as far as possible, doc says the walk can't hurt me. That being said, I can not do that shit in a hotel parking lot. Tundra is wife's, we do strive to secure those spots.

Corbin Walmart, we have someone waiting at the corner of the main street in front of Walmart about 1/2 the times I go. We also have people sitting at the freeway offramps on #75 at the north Corbin exit, most days in decent weather.

 

I don't if it's else where and mybe it's not at Walmart, I think they do it at Walmart it will ask you if you want to donate yo something. No I don't want to donate after spending money in the store and ringing my own purchases up.

 

London Wal-Mart is not much better. See cars parked in the fire lane in front of the store almost every time I am up that way.

 

Yep, and they had the whole parking area in London WM torn up for much of last year. My wife's parents live in south London, we are up there a few times each week.
