Major Problem with engage kit

Seems like they made the hub a little deeper on the 2011 tacoma because my hub won't sit all the way into the race spindle. What should i do?!

 

First thing I would do is contact engage.

Yeah well you can always see if there is anyways that they will be willing to help. You could also give your truck to help them fab up a way of dealing with this since there will be future '11 owners.

Here is where it rubs. Its about an 3/16ths of an inch before it can go all the way in.

 

Hit up Hassim, Or take them down to a machine shop and have them bored deeper. Just dont know how thick that plate is.

 

engage should fix it for free since its their product...and also so they wont have any more problems with other '11 tacos

 

But he didnt purchase from them. He most likely purchased it used. Many companies wont cover second hand products.

 

yeah, and the kit was originally built for a 05-10 tacoma. if there is a problem with making it work on a 2011 because toyota made some changes, engage is not at fault...

they will make it work, but there is no reason they should do it for free

 

I understand he didnt purchase directly from them. He didnt say if it was used or not though. would this not be like any other "manufacturer warranty"? by it from some vendor and if there is a problem you take it to the manufacturer for repairs?

I didnt realize it was for 05-10. maybe they can work out something and his truck be the "test" vehicle for making it right for future '11 tacos.

 

That's exactly my point. Sure they don't HAVE to do it, but if they want business from future '11 owners then they will need a vehicle to help create the template from. If all else fails a machine shop would help.

 

I hit up Hassim and he said he will take a look at it and give his input. I have to wait till tuesday before i have time to take it to him. Oh well. Gives me time to get some more stuff done on the truck

 

Thats the tough part man. When you go LT, gotta expect some unexpected. Your wallet or credit cards will start wearing itself out.

I say use a big hammer. Put it in as far as you can then put the bolts in and start cranking it down. Always worth a try.

 

I tried tighting it down but it rubs the back of the spindle and the hub can not move freely

 

Sounds like you will need machining. Mine were a tight fit but they went in. Did you check the spindle for any buts that would stop the hub. I remember Hassim using a mallet to get them on.


I just think you need to pull up your skirt and pound that shit in lmao. Should have bought my truck lol.

 

Yeah machining sounds like that is what is gonna have to happen. If you're installing your kit in a skirt then you better have those legs shaved! .
