Not always, when it gets close to the weekend I avoid it like the plague.

 

Thunder, lightning and a downpour. Hope I don't lose power.

 

We had a bit of rumble down here... looked like it was gonna go nuts, but didn't do much.

 

Thunder stopped, still pouring and windy.

Still nothing... just caution tape from PD

 

Heard there was a micro burst hit between Trumbull and Easton.

 

Be sure to call it in. Everyone always assumes that someone else did. We pay too much to be down for extended periods of time.

I can't bitch too much.
Paid car and property taxes in full yesterday.
Pleasantly surprised that my car taxes are $550 less than my former town.
Property taxes are about 3k less for a house twice the size and property over 8x larger than my former house.

Did not lose power yesterday. Just as the sun was setting, it cleared up.

 

Lost power for 11.5 hours. Got it back at 5:00 just as I was going to start up my generator again. I don't like running it overnight unsupervised as it were so shut it down around 11:00 and went to bed.

I was expecting to get the "can you get my generator started?" texts but fortunately none. I'll get those for snowblowers for the first storm. I'm everybody's Dad, kid or ex-husband it seems.

 

The small street next to where I live. There was one person last time we lost power, they had a generator and thought it a good idea to run an extension cord across the street to their neighbor's house.

 

Friend's neighbor had a huge propane (or maybe natural gas) automatic standby generator. The tree came down onto the generator.
