Had a good thunderstorm in Cranston. Heavy wind and rain. Debris everywhere, some downed trees. Some areas lost power.

Power blinked for a second or two. I killed the AC and found my jackery but that was the end of it. Greenhouses future is TBD. Put everything back in place without the tarp on it yet. I'm assuming landscape staples are strewn about, just had to put stuff back in place that got knocked over and such. Potatoes survived so minimum i got potatoes.

    Then you're good to go.
We lost power for 11.5 hours. I'd turned off my generator overnight and the power came back right as I was going to start it this morning at 5:00

I can add to the debris. This is the front yard. I have 3 more like this in the back yard. WePXL_20250704_130350923.jpg also had our generator running for about 2 hours. Power went out at 7:30 came back at 10pm.

Down south of warren on the bike path was chaos. Generators everywhere. We just came through and they're still on, one giant Widowmaker fell over the path, and the caution tape was just ripped down and people are breezing under it no care.

    Parade was cool though!

    Any recommendation for dehumidifier?

I purchased a 50 pint GE and the friggin thing didn’t last a year. So I won’t entertain suggestions for their products of that sort
    Thanks

There aren't actually very many dehumidifier manufacturers when you break it down. Gree makes the ones for GE and many other brands.

Who here is good with Mountain Bike gear ratios?

My current bike is a 26" with a 11-34 8x cassette with a 42/34/24 crank. I almost always use the 42t cog and only use the others for long/steep hills. Sometimes I wish I had more top speed as sometimes I spin out on some flat stretches. I was thinking of getting larger cogs for the crank.

Alternatively, I'm considering a 29" with a 12-46 8x cassette and a 30t crank. I'm wondering how this will compare to the 26" setup. Calculating gear ratios isn't my strong suit, but I'm wondering if I get the 29", if going to a 32t (or larger) crank might be better for speed while still being able to tackle the occasional steep hill?

Bigger front chain ring and small rear cog is speed, small front big rear is for power / climbing. I converted an older 3x8 setup to a 1x10 setup and am happy with how it turned out. For the rear, the smallest cog you’re going to likely be able to find is 11 so you’re looking at the front. I’m running a 42t chain ring and a 11-48t cassette. It climbs well and the top speed is decent as well (this is also on a 29’r).

for you, on the 29’r with a 32t crank and 12t cog, you’re at 2.5:1.
Your current setup is 3.8:1. Ignoring tire size, the 29’r will spin out at a slower speed than your current setup.

what I would do if figure out what the lowest gear you need based on how you ride and make sure you at least have that ratio with the biggest cog on the rear.

I could talk MTB drivetrains all day, I’ve done a fair amount of tinkering and conversions. Feel free to ask any questions.
