Clouds and rain. Stayed at a cool old hot springs “resort” near Elk City ID. No sense being wet and cold. Neat place. Very busy in the evening with locals swimming which is good as it is 25 miles out of town and town is like VERY small. Gas is dispensed from a big tank truck. Remote. Did not hear ANY fireworks last night. Calm and quiet in the mountains

We have amended our route a bit-this always happens in my world- and are not going up the west side of the Bitter rot mnts. Instead we are heading for the Walwah mnts and Blue mnts near Walla Walla. Two reasons: one my oldest daughter goes to college at Whitman College in Walla Walla and we are hoping to hide a note in her cello case for next fall. Be a fun find that she will ponder! Second is to see my sister who lives in Richland WA which is on the way but way out of the way of my original plan. Get to see her on Monday (I think) She is not able to come to our brothers celebration so I am glad to be able to spend some time with her. From there to the Seattle mess. More pictures as they happen and can be sent

Well, I earned my root canal badge on Thursday afternoon. Wasn't all that bad. Had a busy day yesterday and didn't get out here, but happy belated 4th to everyone.

The truck again hauled some school board members, including my wife, for the parade in town. I set it up with the Softopper in a configuration I haven't used before to keep a couple people and the precious throwing candy cargo out of the sun. Worked well!

I don't go back work until September 11th. In the meantime because of restrictions I have to watch other people do my yard work.

I was listening to fireworks til way past 11 last night. :annoyed:

A couple photos - now in Jasper BC. It is DUMPING rain for the second night in a row, but the drive through Banff was magical.

Are you sure it's not a lamprey?
