I'm going to stop replying to this thread. I regret ever responding to it to begin with.

I tend to keep my Tacoma trucks for a while (12 years for my previous 2nd Gen and only 4 years into the current 3rd Gen) so I’m not likely to sample a 4th Gen for quite some time.

That said, I’ve never ever had a dealer be so persistent in trying to get me to trade in my current ‘21 on a new truck.

It makes me think the market has softened on the new Tacomas and low mile / well maintained 3rd Gen’s are in demand.

Again, I’ve done zero market research. It is just my perception due to the weekly emails and mailers from my local dealer.

Same as it ever was. I knew I wasn't special when I got the same treatment for my mistaken 3rd gen. Sales people make money turning it over. Curious why so many 3rd genners come here with that belief.

Demand across the industry has softened as COVID-era supply chains got repaired and economic uncertainty has risen. As a result, salespeople are hungry.

    that’s not a Tacoma-specific thing.

Like I said - personal observation more than anything. The fact that I’m not the only person seeing this suggests there is something to it.

FWIW, the second vehicle is a same year Honda Pilot. We haven’t received nearly the same volume of vehicle unsolicited offers on that rig.

Fascinating. Full disclosure, I went through the sales process on my mistaken gen. The hype is not real. My conclusion is that some people are forever in fantasy.

Another 3genner thinking their truck is in high demand…

Not going to a 4g anytime soon but browsing the forums for the next 8 years just in case.

You say that like it is a bad thing. How else is someone supposed to learn about the good and bad of a vehicle? Of course I’m going to browse a thread discussing regrets.

If my 3rd gen lasts another 8 years, I’ll be happy. If I get the 60% value of my original purchase price after 12 years of ownership like I did on my second gen, I’ll be even happier.

 so many opinions guys and girls! You know, thank god we have choices to choose from, let go and be happy with your choice.

We are just a bunch of spoiled rotten folks debating gens. Imagine asking 150 yrs ago these questions. Or asking the folks in war zones right now something like that, put it in perspective. Enjoy your rigs! They are all beautiful and we are So god damn lucky to have them.

I like all the gens tbh, I test drove a 25 twice and I can see why ppl like them. The gear hunting is gone but it’s a bit shifty running thru the gears (I’m sure you get used to it). I’m a car guy so I could quibble about this or that on any vehicle haha. I hope the 4th gen’s cruise to 500k without issue bc I will eventually buy one.

Look at all the I just got my 4th gen Tacoma SR5 or SR trim with very minimal options threads. If you check their post history back long enough these are the same people that talk trash about the 4th gen. These are all the current naysayers of 3rd gen owners wishing and hoping to get the 4th gen but can’t justify paying $50k +.

Best thing to do is ignore these people until they bite the bullet on a poverty trim Tacoma and then welcome them to the 4th gen forums with open arms.
