25,000 miles on my bmw and I haven't had to adjust spokes on either wheel once. And that includes hard hits offroad. How often are you having to adjust yours?

Went to check out the Wildlife Management area at Short Mountain, WVa. Signs and reviews indicated it had a shooting range and primitive campsites, so I thought it sounded like an interesting place to check out! I just knew it was going to be interesting when I saw the turn-off was a VERY tiny dirt road. Made it back about a quarter mile and ran into this...

Being a professional "trespasser", I was not going to let a padlocked gate stop me! Made it through by the right post with ease! Unfortunately, other than a few padlocked buildings with no windows, it was a whole lot of this...

    img_4451-jpg_8adb65ce19b9c252261841e59146f26acc3948b0.jpg

Very pretty, but not particularly exciting. Went on for maybe two miles and finally ended here...

Was hoping for at least a scenic vista, unusual wildlife... something, anything! But, alas, other than some mud, sand, and rocky areas, it was not to be! Only real upside was the prolific amount of wineberry bushes. Got 5-6 handfuls, so that was nice!

Glad you had a good day, but this is the kind of stuff that costs the riding community access. If it's closed, don't ignore it.

Front tire finally showed up, but no valve stems. Even though tracking said it's on the truck.
fml. Hoping Slime stems will work cause that's what's going in.

One old-ish guy putting around on a supermoto with no ill intent? Yeah... maybe... but Road Closed isn't the same as No Trespassing... right? :D The only sign I saw that was blatant said No ATV's.

Super Tenere I haven't had to touch. Dirtbike every once in a blue moon there will be a slightly looser spoke.

Ok, it didn't work out too well, but going to try again. This is a learning experience, apparently internet instruction is not enough for me. I would be remiss if I did not report my results.
    Last night...
I sealed the front wheel first, then the rear.
I did not pay as much attention to filling the spoke holes on the front, I thought the stuff would flow enough to find it's way down. But noticed after the fact that a bubble was present in each spoke nut, so poked them thru and filled them, or so I thought. The stuff was tacky at that point, I figured a fresh squirt would stick, and it did..but the there was still a hollow spot near the bottom, and with pressure, it blew thru, just a pinhole, but that was enough.

The rear, I did a better job of filling the spoke holes after seeing the bubbles on the front, using a toothpick to shove it in while it was fresh and still a liquid.
The result was that the front leaked out of damn near every spoke, right thru the threaded area. Pressure was at 40psi, if that matters.

The rear leaked on only one spoke.
Both stems held just fine, both beads set super easy with no leaks.
I thought about just throwing in the towel/tube, but the hole for the tube stem is bigger now, although a collar or spacer ring around it might be fine. I didn't think about that. It might also be fine as it is.

Now, I have pulled off the entire strip of E6000 from the front, it wasn't easy and did have good adhesion. I wanted to see what the problem was before trying again, cure time is the same for patches as it is for a full redo. The stuff is tough in a thick strip, actually used pliers to get a good hold while pulling. It stuck especially well to the spoke nuts themselves. So that was a good sign, it just needed more fill in the hole, story of my life, etc...
It was easy to see the sunken in material, and several had an actual hole in the stuff, so obviously I failed hard trying to fill them in.
Bought the same stuff under a different name with a different fine tip to get it in there.

Hoping to just refill the one spoke on the rear and give the entire thing another layer for good measure.

Waiting for this to cure, then stretch the tires back on, just to see if they leak, is the worst.
I really miss having a 2nd bike.
40psi, no leak. So far. :fingerscrossed: Gonna let it sit for a day before putting it back on.

Got this great? idea last night as I was reeling from the fumes, if it leaks again, the spoke nut threaded hole is deep, about 5/16" and takes a pretty good booger of stuff that doesn't want to drop to bottom once it touches the sides.
I have this rubber make-your-own-fan-belt stuff that's the right diameter to slather in goop, then push it down in like an old school engine main seal, trim to height then cover it and the nut.

Might make a more reliable seal.
Front wheel still has 12 hours to go, so tomorrow for that one.:fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed:
