LT kit help

Alright i know you guys all hate this but i need help choosing and you guys know a lot more than i do.

Allpro is quoting me $5,799.70 for parts. This includes the LT Kit, fox 2.5 w/resi in front, Extended Axles, Bumpstops for the front, Rear Leafs, Brake Lines, and Ubolts.
Then i have i have Engage off road with king 8" coilovers, 50T pack setup in the rear, kings 16" stroke 2.5" smooth w/ remote reservoir, bed cage and all the fiberglass plus all the hardware and what not. for around $8,400 shipped.


what do you guys think, i'm new to off road (i'm not a rich brat, i just have my own store and its doing well to the point were i can treat my self/truck) i am going to make a lot of road trips to trails and off road sites so it will be worth it. This is also going to be my daily driving truck.

The engage kit doesn't let you retain 4x4. Have you looked into total chaos or camburg? Those kits offer more travel (14 I think as oppose to 12 from ap)

they didn't say anything about me lossing 4x4 when i spoke to Hassim and them from engage. i like Allpro because its a bit narrower and i don't have to fiberglass. i looked at Cambrug but its out of my price range and Total Chaos hasn't responded yet.

do we get any discount from Total Chaos?

 

Engage's kit currently doesnt retain 4x4 because we havent sourced the axles needed for the 15" we want. Me and a few other ppl are still working on it. Project Mayhem is supposed to be 4x4, im talking with him about finding suitable axles.

 

You will loose 4x4 with the engage kit until they come up with a solution on the extended axles. But from what I understand is there having binding issues and there trying to resolve the issue before producing the product. They have had there 1st gen axle in the works for a long while now. Don't know if there having more success with the 05+ though.

lol yea going without 4x4 is kind of a bummer but after seeing this guy wheel his Engage kit 2wd, it opened my eyes a lot:


He was blasting his way thru bypasses in cleghorn that a fully geared 4x4 was having trouble.

 

Get ready to spend for some unplanned expenses, stuff breaks and wears a lot faster when your mobbin down whoop sections. Have you factored cost of wheels,Labor and parts for boxing frame, engine cage, misk welding, driveline shortening, painting fenders, custom tube bumpers, possibly regearing to squeeze those 35s, hydraulic bump stops, dual bypasses etc...

 

also Total Chaos distributes their kits thru 3rd party vendors so you might not get a response from them about sales. I may be wrong tho

 

If your worried about not having to use fiberglass and being too wide you should look into stock length boxed lca's from total chaos, uniball upers and do a dual shock set up for a truly solid mid travel. Check out straycat 's build

 

yea thats been my main source of info and it even says with engage and extended front axle i'd maintain 4X4. i'm more looking for personal experience and advice to make my choice.

 

on Total Chaos website it says something about not working with trd 1.25" thick rotor brakes? does that mean i can't because i have a TRD off road?

OHHH i see now. thats confusing as hell cause i didn't know they made those brakes. they should put a link to that site on Total Chaos page so you know.
