Woke up at 4am and pulled the brisket off the smoker.

No chance of rain today....its raining.

 

supposed to start tropical stormin here
so perhaps i go back to bed lol

 

It's OTW to my house now ...

 

Not sure I want some of that rain or not. It hasn't rained in a while and things are finally drying out, but things are drying out finally. My basement has finally dried out so I'm conflicted. Looking at the extended forecast I'm conflicted on what it'll do.

ain't got no basement and i have plenty of room for the water to run off so
it's hurricane season, if all i get is rain, i'm good with that

 

I'm really partial to having a basement. More room for all my junk

 

I like having a basement 100%
It is like my personal bat cave
Had one in Winston and it was pretty sweet

But they are not common here b/c the soil is full of fucking rocks - I can only imagine what it would $$$ to have one put in around here
Plus I would never want one where water intrusion is an issue - that would piss me off 100%

I would be pissed if my septic required a pump too [mine is gravity]
Anything that requires power or my house is fucked - is a no/go for me

 

I don't have to have an ejector/grinder pump. Line going out to the shit tank is roughly waist height.



Can't have a bathroom in the basement, but that's fine by me.

I usually don't have water intrusion issues, but this year all bets have been off. I have a 2,000ish gallon cistern on the other side of the wall that I know eventually is going to leak. Kinda nice for now since I don't have to use the well for outside spigot duties.

 

Very good chance of rain here. The sun is shining... it's not raining... nothing on the radar anywhere near here.
