hey welcome aboard neighbor, I'm west of Boise. Not a lot of members from our area here and no dedicated thread for ID but you'll find some in the Regions/North West forum. I have had nothing but bad experiences with mechanics here so I do all my own work except AC, and have gone without for years due to my trust issues. :-D Here's a search and a while back I got some comments in this thread.

Nice. I just picked up my Tacoma like a week ago, don’t really know anyone here and already have the “breakdown fear” lol. It’s a pretty solid truck. There are just a few things I would like to get done to it.

After working from Orofino as a USFS fishery technician 1979-1980, I worked the week after our crew was laid off with IDFG statewide the last three months of 1980, followed by five months with sturgeon research downriver from Jerome/Twin Falls to Bliss. I retired to Cd'A after nearly thirty years in Alaska, and it's a bit higher than the lowest spot in this state. Kyle and Kelly know that. Our pastor has been here for a couple years since he and his family moved from Lewiston. Barcelona Red is a SR5-DLT, Dad's Last Truck, and since his specs matched mine, I bought the truck from his estate as we'd agreed. Ever hear the old Toyota commercial? "Once you get your hands on a Toyota, you'll never let go!" At the time (2009), the Missoula dealer refused to sell anything that couldn't be found on their lot, so he called the dealer of my first new vehicle (1984 Toyota Longbed Deluxe), Appleway Toyota in Spokane. A nice lady (fleet sales?) told him to give her a couple weeks and she called to let him know she found his truck! Lithia took over the Missoula Toyota dealership and have been more helpful, just as I've found Parker Toyota (and Subaru) to be very helpful and reasonable in their services here. There's a NHOU frame treatment dealer in Kalispell, and I hope to return there (been three years since the first frame treatment). Send a PM should you be up this way, I'll buy coffee.

FortunatelyI haven’t had to get anything done yet. I was wondering where the best place to go if/ehen I did have to have something done. There’s a new Toyota off road shop here in Boise called Taco vinyl. I guess they do everything Toyota specializing in off road and after market stuff.

Didn’t realize you were in northern Idaho.

The shop next door to Taco Vinyl is called Apex Offroad - they are the actual shop that does the work. There is also a vinyl/PPF shop Nextdoor too. They are all associated with each other in some way. Apex has a pretty good reputation and Ive had them help me swap out the springs on my new King coil overs as I don't have a spring compressor I trust. Im doing a 2025 Tacoma build and will have them help me with a few other tings. Also planning to have the entire thing PPF wrapped - will use their partner shop if their price is the same as the other PPF shops around Boise.

Ive used Bucks also - they helped me with some work I did on my Jeep. Also a pretty decent shop but for Tacomas Id recommend Apex.
