49ers, you missed the window of a cheap good QB. Purdy is now in the $50M+ club. Good for him, but not sure he’s all that. Not a hater, just don’t see him as elite.

49ers are likely back in the playoffs this year.

What is your definition of elite? Top 10? Top 3? I would say Josh Allen, Mahomes, could be labeled as "elite" based on a combination of regular and postseason performances. Maybe Jalen Hurts now? You don't need to be elite to be paid as a top 10 QB. You only need to be a franchise worthy QB. Purdy is being paid on average per year 7th out of the top 10 QB's. Below Tua and the same as Goff. I would argue that Purdy is right up there with Goff and Love outdueling both in the playoffs. You could make an argument that there are 5 QB's in the NFL better than Purdy, my list: Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, Lamar Jackson, Hurts. But I can't pick out 10 I like better than Purdy. Bottom line...franchise QB's do not come cheap. And Brock is the franchise now.

On a side note, you can argue that Mahomes annual salary is egregiously low by today's standard. But his contract was signed to 10 years in 2020, and was a record at the time.

$53m is a deal for the 49ers. When it comes down to resigning the next batch of young QB's like CJ Stroud, Jayden Daniels, perhaps Bo Nix and Baker Mayfield, those contracts will easily eclipse $53m per year.

    Old school logo!

    I think it’s great!!!

Be kind, I like the Raiders because they won SB XVIII in 1983 for the city of L.A.

    Thanks.

My condolences about the Raiders part.

I used to follow the Oakland/ Los Angeles/ Oakland again/ Las Vegas Raiders. I still think they were the best in the Madden era.

I don't really follow the NFL like I use to...I would plop myself down for the entire day watching TV.

Nowadays, I don't mind watching highlights.

I've got History of the Oakland Raiders on DVD...as well as histories of the Lakers and Dodgers...I grew up in L.A. but now live in Delaware via USAF.

I'll pay more attention during the playoffs and will plop down to watch the SB.

I'm still a hard core Niner fan though last season was a frikin disaster. I miss the Walsh and Montana years. I followed the Raiders back in the day but got tired of them moving all the time.

While I was stationed at Dyess AFB, in Abilene TX, (1993-99) I followed the Niners in a town full of Cowboy Fans.

John Madden & Pat Summerall were thee best commentators during Niners/Cowboys games!
