Depends on the state, but every state has a process

I’d be surprised if the state would provide you a duplicate or lost title as you don’t “own” the truck. You got the real estate but there needs to be a transfer of ownership process that would get your name on title. I’d talk to dmv.

Quick google search pulled this up.

In Kentucky, obtaining a title for an abandoned vehicle generally involves a multi-step process that includes verifying abandonment, notifying the last known owner, and potentially pursuing legal action. The specific steps depend on whether the vehicle is on public or private property. According to Drive KY, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has specific forms and procedures for vehicle titling, including those related to abandoned vehicles.

Anyway, if you can't find the key or the truck doesn't have the same switch as my 4runner at the front of the gear selector (mine lost the little cover that keeps it hidden, should be a centimeter square in size or so), 4 bolts can disconnect the driveshaft from the rear diff, a couple zip ties, and instant neutral and at least you can go back and forth, steering is another issue.

Take the covers off the steering column and you will see how the ignition lock cylider is held in by 2 shear bolts. With a sharp chisle you should be able to hit the circumference of the bolts to loosen them, done it at least 20 times. The issue with changing cylinders is that the doors, the air bag and maybe the fuel door are keyed too and you dont have those keys either.

OP, if you get registration in your name you can go to a Toyota dealer and they will cut you a key by the V.I.N.
