Can I run the oem halogen lights with LED drl in my 2020 sr5 and just not use the LED drl until i get the harness from puppypunter? I am specifically wanting to get the black housing TRD pro style that came in the pre 2020 trd pro tacomas.

Yes, you can. They won’t function exactly correct, and you will need to address the turn signal being a 7440 instead of a 7442. So you can modify the housing, or a simple adapter that eliminates the parking wire. Shoot me a PM, I think I have some test parts lying around I can hook you up with.

Can I tap into the parking light hot wire to power the led drl?

Tap/piggy-back a fuse, not a wire. Cutting into existing wires generally has a not-good result.

Ok, to confirm that should work then? I can use some t tap or posi tap to run the led off the parking light wire and then just need to swap connectors for the turn signal bulb.

OP, why would you just not wait until you get the correct harness from Puppypunter?

PuppyPunter is your best resource making it all work together. I was just telling you that cutting into existing wiring is a bad idea when a fuse-tap adapter is easier and safer to reverse.
