They have two bars that mount into our rail system, and the tent mounts to the bars

I think I'd camp more if I had one, but for starters I don't know where I'd store it in the meantime

Check out the Halo books. Just read the new Greg Bear "Cryptum" book. The story about the Forerunners and where they disappeared to. (trilogy set of books, waiting on the next.)

I'm a reborn bookworm due to work and wait times. I own them all,,. I go to work and get paid to sit and read at my leisure,,lol.

I just can't like that front end, but that bench looks great. Give me a third gen with that 1st gen seat and I'd be in love.

Ah man, it needs work no lies. But if you deleted those turn signals and moved them to say some LED ambers in that top vent row left right, mesh out the gaps, color match everything, HID the lights, fix the front end obviously, remove that lower valance that's rusting out anyway, get some meats for tires in there (street wise though), black out the bumper, paint the truck some nice street rod red with black trim and stripes, I dunno man I can see some serious potential with that body style :p

Well.... I had a fun day up in Beaverton. I got the front windows tinted on the FJ down to 18% to match the rears (knock on wood no cops notice)

And the FJ became a medical transport for my 4Runner's new heart!
    DSCN3204-1_bbb9373b0a298928832c1aed136792d086100d1f.jpg

Awe..... all safe at home on my engine stand with the medical transport and the patient in the background (No, that's not my 2nd gen on the left and I don't know who owns it but GOT DAMM that thing is clean!!!)

So I thought once I had the engine in my hands and the money out of my pocket, some of the nerves would be gone? Nope. I'm still nervous as hell about getting this put back together correctly. I started to put some bolts on and then I stopped. Definitely need to study my before pictures thoroughly. Plus, it's beautiful outside - who wants to be in a dark cold garage? :-D

Nice!!! congrats man! Gunna be sick.

I just got my spare tire mounted... wow such a tight fit. I have to pull on it with my feet to get a bit of an angle then crank it up the rope hard to clear the diff lmao. This is after cutting and all that... it'll work but... nothing bigger would.

Nice wench, you should post pix. I'd love to hear how easy the install went for you.

As for pulling the motor and putting it back in, the thought even scares me.

Well so far it's inside the bumper, but it has to come back out because there's some &^*(%( wire that runs from the solenoid to a grounding point on the bottom of the winch motor (why did it have to be on the bottom?). Front bolts were a bit of a trick but made it.

I forgot to buy a solenoid relocation kit, too... so this might be it for today.
Time to read up on where to put this solenoid.

That is pretty epic. Not entirely sure if I want that or not though cause I kinda like being able to drop the gate and have a little extra room. Something to ponder, but $900+ shipped.... ouch. I'd have almost $2000 on the ass with the allpro bumper lol.

Also found a pic of it installed:

That looks SEXY on an Access Cab! $900 is too much though. My buddy isn't even an experienced fab guy and he built his own just like it for less than $300 in materials

Anyone have interest in a wooden framed futon? I'll get rid of it for $40 but I need it through next Friday and want to deliver it early that day (right as I go back to AZ). Mattress kinda sucks and I'd probably just look into getting a new mattress for it, or at least recover it. I just threw a sheet on it to cover it, been using it as my 'bed' while up here and picked it up for $100. I was going to bring it back with me but, eh I decided I need to start getting rid of crap instead of getting more as I'm going to give house back to the bank.

Here's a quick pic... excuse the mess going through stuff to get ready to pack and such. Actual cover under the blanket is a dark green.
