My truck finally arrived. Should I wait for a 2026

I ordered a 2024 OR Premium in black last November. It finally arrived on Friday after my 2 week fishing trip when I could have really used a vehicle with better off road capability. I don’t need an OR vehicle for the balance of the year.
I ordered the truck in black because I didn’t really like the colour selection for the OR Premium in Canada…
I’m now tempted to wait for a 2026 hoping that the OR will become available in silver.
Best GUESS when will the 2026’s start shipping?

You ordered black but really want silver?

 

It seems that Silver isn't an available color for a TRD OR Premium in Canada, although it is available for different trims/option combos.

The only model OR in silver is the long bed.

 

Hold off until 2026. I definitely wouldn't purchase the 2024.

 

It seems the last few years in Canada the dealers start getting new model yr tacomas around February. I'm not sure when they can request an allocation.

 

Just to clarify, I ordered a 2024 which they were not able to fulfill so that rolled over to a 2025 which just arrived. I wouldn’t mind taking my chances on a larger fuel tank on the 2026. There were no changes from 24 to 25 so I suspect there will be some updates in the 26. I think they usually come out in October, so why not wait another 3 months since I’ve waited almost a year already.

 

Yes, Vancouver, Washington USA. I am amazed by the OP saying this is not available in Canada.

 

I'm amazed my local dealership can't order the larger mud flaps that are available in Canada.

I told them to roll the order over to a 2026. If the Tacoma goes back to the normal release schedule it should only be a couple of months away. The prices in Canada used to be lower than in the US; even with the US tariffs the bigger discounts in the US make it about the same or less since the dealers in Canada still want full MSRP on an OR. There is some room to move on a Sport. I suspect by the fall that will change.

 

I just sold a black Wrangler. That color, never again! And.....that was my second black Wrangler in 30 years.

 

Close enough though, eh?

I have not been to Vancouver Toyota lately. When go to Gladstone Toyota for parts, I normally walk their lot because Gladstone will list discounts on the windows. Check out this video.
