Ok alittle off topic but I’ve been trying to figure out what settup this gentleman is running. I’m about to upgrade the suspension tire and rims. Any input would help! So I can pull the trigger on this

Over the last couple weeks I’ve done -

    front pads & rotors
    Rear drum clean and inspect
Front & rear differential oil change
    Engine oil change
    Engine air filter
    Cabin air filter
    Cleaned MAF sensor
    greased propeller shaft
    Tire rotation

By no means would I ever call myself a mechanic. I love that our trucks are so easy to maintain on our own

It was a small thing but bothered me every time I got in my truck. The rusted door jam is now fixed for good!

Before every door had a worn patch of paint and a little surface rust. Some rust removal and silver paint works well! Also added the door jam protectors from the third gen to avoid any future wear.

Rust removal + paint. I kept all paint transitions under the sticker area. IMG_9338.jpg

Finished product. New sticker rolls over the edge.

Cut the mudflaps (front and rear), made some grab handles to help when I climb into the bed (will probably rework these in the future), installed a marine 12V socket up front to plug my air compressor or roadside work light into, and mounted the work light in this empty spot under the hood (the cord is kept in one of the door pockets).

Tracking down a P0171 that ultimately led me to a faulty fuel pump. I like to do my due diligence before throwing parts at the problem. Checked the MAF sensor, intake leaks, O2 sensors, fuel pressure regulator, and fuel pump. Replaced the valve cover gaskets while the truck was down and in the garage.

I replaced this vent hose that's on the bank 1 side valve cover. It was still in one piece but had some cracking around the ends and was rock hard. I run a catch can on the PCV system so I didn't need the bank 2 vent hose (Part # 12261-31030).

Honestly, I recommend doing it yourself, it’s a pretty straightforward job. If you can change your own oil, you can handle valve cover gaskets. Just be sure to apply RTV where the timing cover meets the head. I also suggest picking up a 1/4-inch drive torque wrench rated for 20–200 in-lb. A lot of people go by feel, but having the right tool adds peace of mind.

Did a whole facelift today - Repainted the wheels (still need to do center caps), fixed headlight fog, put drl fog light housings on, and gave it a wash.

Next I’m gonna paint the grille surround and repaint the bottom bumper with truck bed liner
