Wife & I put 243 miles on the bike this weekend.

Saturday, we road to the Pagoda in Reading, then the Jigger Shop for ice cream, stopped by a local fruit / vegetable stand for corn on the cob, then home.

Sunday, we road around the battlefield in Gettysburg for most of the day. We stopped at the Dobbin House Tavern for lunch, the Mr. G's for ice cream.

Well, it's a whole different bike now. Prolly need some break in on the tires before I can really say anything. Wheels seem balanced, no hopping, haven't got over 65 just yet. Really hard to tell because Colorado roads are absolute crap, they love to put patches over patches. But the smooth bits seemed fine. Gonna hold off on the balance beads and see how the break-in period goes with just the weights.
Some added road noise, but fully expected that and thought it wasn't near as bad as reviews made it out to be. Really more of a hum that sounds comforting knowing the tread is hooking up. They do run hotter, but it's also hot as hell out.

Played with the air pressure, more was not better. Factory recommended psi seems to be just fine. Seemed kind of squishy on the first ride out, but got better after a bit, prolly just that new knobby tire squirm.
Cornering, gotta work it now, doesn't fall into a corner like it did. But otherwise feels stable and connected to the road. I feel this will only make me a better rider.

Managed to drop the bike on top of me, in the garage.
Was letting out the hot air to put in cool air :beavisd:on the side stand, and a flat rear tire is enough to let it slowly fall right over. Shoulder took one for the team. Bike was unharmed. Never would have guessed that could happen. It has a pretty good lean on the stand.

Ordered a 47t rear sprocket to give it better giddy up. Hoping there is enough adjustment in the chain for it to fit.
    Definitely looks more capable now.

I am not crazy about the Shinko 804/805 that I have on. Of course, the PO did most straight highway riding, so it is brand new tread on the sides and 50% tread down the middle. Makes it pretty unstable on twisty roads. Bike feels like it keeps wanting to stand up or fall over, but doesn't want to hold a line. It is good to hear that they are better when new and haven't been flattened.

That's gotta be like running a car tire on the back.
I'm at about 70 miles now and feel way more confident in them.

Took it up the canyon in the twistys and it feels much better after getting a little scrub in.
They are definitely not balanced. :anonymous::rofl:
So That should be huge when I get it done right.
Gas mileage has dropped to 72mpg, but that may be due to spirited riding. Taking Friday off to get a proper ride in if I can manage to sneak away. Next two days are in the 100's.

If I run factory on gravel it's ass. I run 20psi if I expect to be off pavement.

My road bike is the same, if I'm not loaded I'll drop it 5psi for better ride.

I hate sharing dumb shit. But. I feel this is pretty relevant to this thread and the site as a whole, together. Only thing it's missing is trying to fit a 33 without rubbing

Lol i was trying to hold off...and failed spectacularly. Now I'm trying to pretend I didn't buy it so I'm not checking my email every hour for the shipping notification.

The amount of questions I have would take all day to be answered.

I really want mufflers but I’m fairly certain I’ve had cops ignore my speeds because of my quiet stock bike. 3 times I’ve had them aim their radar at me and wave me by.

Even with baffles they're too loud? That's surprising...but I also have crap hearing to nothing is ever too loud lol. yeah tune adds up as well, whatever company you go with might have a flash service you could save money on vs getting it dyno'd.

Termignoni 4 Uscite, pic attached. Luckily this one comes with the UpMap device to flash the ECU.

    s-l1200.jpg

Lol they certainly do appreciate a quiet exhaust. I haven't had any issues with my aftermarket ones on any of the bikes so far. Generally it's just the beach cities where they are more vigilant about it, and usually it's only an issue if you're revbombing or riding like an idiot. IDK about other states but CA doesn't have inspections either.

Do all bike tires generally come with a balance dot?
I see on the web that Shinko usually does and has the sticker on the tire to tell you about it.
This set did not and no mention on the sticker either.
However, these did come with a white stamp, shaped like a dot, but it's the speed rating, not just a plain dot. Would that be the same thing? Or merely the speed rating?
