Yeah this is TW, where we discuss unsafe actions of all sorts. For example, this man is at grave risk of developing lung cancer from smoking:

also 100% agree they should have a small (closeable) slit in the bottom of the vent above the wireless charging pad to blow cool air at your phone. although i'm sure someone up north would have the heat on and forget to close it then complain their phone was getting too hot.

i'm sure someone could 3d print a little duct that clips on the vent and make a couple bucks.

Why don't automakers team up with mobile phone makers and they could make phones that work in unison with the infotainment system?

People always seem to have problems with those two.

The phone would come with the vehicle, it's own phone that works with the infotainment system and as no glitches, no pairing or syncing existing phones.

Or better yet it's own tablet that is the infotainment system, it can be upgradeable and replaceable.

Having the system permanently attached to the dash has proven to not be the best execution.

it works pretty good for what it is. most things are user error but i do admit it could be done a little better.

the problem with the tablet infotainment thing is...

now you have to pay toyota for the 5g cell connection
now your shit does not sync to your phone

the best part about it syncing to my phone is i can be 30 mins into a 3 hour podcast while i am getting ready and hop into my car and it just resumes the thing i was just listening to.

the biggest thing they need to fix is bt pairing. if you remote start the vehicle it should NOT try to pair with your phone until you press the brake and hit the start button. i WFH most of the time and my office is 5 feet away from my driveway. i remote start my truck for my wife so it can get to temp before she leaves for work and it is soooo fucking annoying when it connects to my phone while it's just sitting there in the driveway and then it gives her shit trying to switch from my phone to hers. i try to remember to turn off my bluetooth but honestly it shouldn't be an issue. they could easily solve this problem.

IDK? I'm the only one who drives my truck and I rarely spend over an hour behind the wheel, most days my phone don't even ring. I don't even know when my phone lost its pairing with the truck until the phone goes off and nothing happens on the screen. I might not be the best person to offer suggestions here.

It’s close coupled electromagnetic induction passing a few watts. Theres no ionizing radiation.

A typical induction stovetop involves 10x or more watts.

Consider also that your house walls have wires emitting electromagnetic fields throughout your living space. So does your home WiFi. Radio stations. Power lines. And of course the Sun.

Qi or MagSafe wireless chargers aren’t cooking your fragile manbits.
