Lots of drugs back then - lots - of - drugs -

 

When we lived in OK we had a tornado siren at the back of my property - it was more entertaining back up than anything

We also had one of those NWS weather alert radios with a battery back-up
When there was a tornado warning, it would go off and sound this siren in the house that you couldn't ignore even if you were dead asleep
If I ever lived someplace with threatening weather again, I would get one of those radios - it was gold - never failed


Those storms at night are super dangerous
People generally don't check the weather and prepare before bed
Seems to happen more and more despite the obvious consequences

so, people in murrilin may remember this past 4th's Chesapeake Bay Bridge excitement, when some moron going eastbound thought it woul be a good idea to run into a tractor trailer going west....so i got up @3:20 to leave @ 4:20 for the 65 mile run to the 1st pond, fished several hours and rolled to the next 2 for a couple more hours, then my plan was to get home round 11:30 ish. so im rocketing along with really not much westbound traffic at all, which is a surprise,amirite Mollie ? so I see the overhead lane X's to show that eastbound has 1 westbound lane, been there done that, so im a hundred yards from the very top of, when traffic comes to a complete stop, with nothing coming westbound...uh-ho. so erryone's milling around when i got the idea of some clownshit, so I opened opened up my office...



now, that's how it looked when i arrived at pond 1, it didn't look this way on top of the bridge, as my rods were a little scattered. so me being the proverbial Asshat drug my 7'11" frog rod out and asked my parking lot people if anyone wanted to make some casts? I got a few laff's but no takers. so the wait was about 58 minutes

 

oh, and I want to thank myself for bring this lifesaver with me that day....
