What did you pay for your 2025 TACOMAS?

As best I can tell, the bed liner is done at the factory not the dealer. If it's on the Monroney (window sticker) it's coming with the truck AFAIK.

If you know what you want and are willing to fly-and-drive or have it shipped, give Jim Rouleau a try for a brokered deal. I'm not ready to pull the trigger so I've not used him, but others here have and the reviews are pretty good. He's also on

 

Thank you for the input. All very helpful. I'm not totally against the spray on bedliner. My current tundra has a steel spray lined bed and it takes a beating. I'm just thinking a bed mat on the composite bed of the new Tacoma would suffice.

Yes, it has for me. I have over 100k miles and nearly 9 years with bed mat on composite bed 3rd gen. While not pristine, the bed is just fine and the mat serves well at keeping stuff from sliding around (mostly). When I buy a 4th gen I'd prefer not to get the bedliner.

 

It's about a 6% discount from sticker to initial asking. That's encouraging but not necessarily rare. You might be able to get it closer to 10% total depending on negotiation and trade. But they could easily pull the rug out with dealer addons worth thousands, so get a detailed OUT THE DOOR quote before booking any flight. and don't tell them you're flying in to look at it. That alone is reason for them to make changes which aren't in your favor when you show up. Gives the appearance you need the purchase more than they need the sale.

 

MSRP on my 2025 TRD Sport Premium that I brought home 2 weeks ago was $54,464.00. I paid $50,795.39 but till all was said and done they smoked me with a few ridiculous add on fees that they refused to remove. That along with taxes brought me to $55,859.95 OTD. 2 things. 1. My truck came with the spray on bed liner. I would not have bought it if I had a choice but I must say it is nice. 2. Be cautious buying out of state. It's doable but it can be a hassle. My truck is STILL sitting in my garage because I have not had time to get it inspected here in Pa.

 

An inspection is a hassle?

 

Yes. A hassle. It's a brand new truck with 140 miles on it. I think its nuts that it has to be inspected again as soon as it crosses state lines. On top of that, finding a reputable place to have it inspected is another issue. I am very particular and have not had much luck lately with Toyota dealers, especially their service. For example about 2 years ago I took my then 2020 Tacoma in for an oil and filter change and they returned it to me with half of the bolts on the skid plate missing. Had that fell off the result could have been disastrous. I am not gonna take my brand new Taco someplace where a bunch of goons scratch the hell out of my new rims because they "have to take 2 of the wheels off" to look at the brakes. I work 12 hour nights in EMS so I sleep during the day. That, coupled with life in general allows little to no free time to get it inspected.

 

Not sure how PA is, but when I had to do that in Florida, needed to go to DMV, wait in line, then wait on inspector. All said it took a couple hours.
I did not have those issues in Texas though.

    Decided to send it and get another Tacoma. If it's too small and I need a full size, I will. But my first gen had 240k on the clock and it was time for something more modern and reliable (started having a lot of little issues to fix). And my wife didnt think it was to small for the kid and her. Plus he loves hat its small enough for her to drive too. Debated on downsizing to a rav-4 to be economical but I couldn't do it. I'm excited to be in my 3rd Tacoma over my lifetime and my first ever new car.

 

Congrats on your first new car! You got a good deal and the children will adapt. Car seats might be a challenge so select carefully.

 

My math might be off but if you did the 4.75% 60mo deal through Toyota and intend to go the full term, you would have been better paying $1k more to get 2.99% financing (maybe have them add something of value here). Over 60 months it would save you about $800 in interest cost. I know, very minimal and it's probably easier to finance through Toyota during the purchase.

 

You’d be correct with that math, but I don’t plan on going full term. I plan to pay it off around 4 years. I’m also going to be selling some of the add ons that came free with the truck like the predator steps which should close the gap.

 

Yea understandable. Most people do not go full term so the difference is minimal. I hate those predator steps with a passion. I'm in Texas so pretty much every truck that isn't a bare bones SR/SR5 comes with those steps installed.

 

Yeah, no idea why they put them on there but all those options were pre-installed, so the dealer had no choice.

Price on the window sticker is $999 yet they're readily available for $570-600 at the parts counter (

... and because they're a Distributor Option they're on the window sticker and will thus come with the truck no matter what. Sure, negotiate some $$ off but you're still overpaying for something many wouldn't have bought in the first place.

 

I'm running into a small predicament when considering an out-of-state purchase. Another dealer that has the spec that I want won't do any financing for out of state sales. Cash only. This is news to me but I sort of understand with how often identity theft and fraud happens.

 

What if you finance through that dealer with TFS or whomever they use? Refinance with your local credit union a couple months later if the rate is sufficiently better.

 

That's true, but in my case, I am not "overpaying" at all as I'm not paying for any of the options. I honestly think most people buying these trucks are getting the options waived anyway.

 

Sure, if you can find or order one without the stuff you don’t want, that’s the way to go.

But if something is on the Moroney, you’re buying it with that truck whether you want it or not.
