    Hello,

Looking for help on a possible solution to a problem I'm having. My driver's seat keeps making a loud *POP* or *CLICK* anytime I go over an uneven surface or any bumps. I can replicate it by raising the seat, and it sounds like it's coming from the bottom right. I checked the bolts, everything is tight, and looked underneath and can't see anything that could be rubbing any other plastic. Is this a common failure, and if so, is there an easy solution? I already brought it up to the dealer, and they just said they can't find anything. The previous owner may have been heavier set, and I'm wondering if they threw something outta whack. I appreciate any help or advice!

    Thank you.

Welcome to the forum. Does it sound like metal or plastic? You say that you can replicate it by raising the seat, does it make the noise during the movement or at the end of the travel? There’s a lot going on with the power seat so you might have to remove the seat to see what’s going on underneath.

Did you check the plastic footings that cover the four mounting points on the floor? They can get loose and maybe the power seat is bouncing off them?

I just checked, and everything seems solid, so I don't think it's the footings. It feels and sounds like it's coming from the bottom right, where the bottom and top of the seat connect and pivot, but it's hard to tell. Normally, I wouldn't care much, but I'm semi-concern it could be a safety issue, and I can't go down the road without it doing it nonstop.

It makes the noise as soon as you begin to raise it with a loud click, but it's not constant, like anything is dragging. The best way I'd describe it is the sound of breaking thin plastic. I'll go on YouTube and follow a guide on how to remove the seat. If I can't make any progress, would you recommend going to the dealership to try and remedy it, or should I go and find an interior/upholstery shop?

    Thank you!

I would go to an upholstery shop if it was me.

Mine didn't make a clicking sound but an awful plasticky scrapping noise whenever I'd make any adjustments up or down. You mentioned the click coming from the bottom right, which is where my scrapping noise was coming from, so possibly the same part just different noise.

I removed the seat and started spraying lithium grease on small sections and isolated the noise to the part circled in red. I did this back in Feb. 2024 and it's been quiet ever since.
