I saw a Catterham today about half that size, in weight. I already feel exposed enough on a motorcycle, but got damn those cars are hard to spot

Ha that was my first car in high school

The spare tire was mounted on top of the transmission in the engine bay.

We used to take our cars up on the logging roads behind Wilkeson and try to pull the e-brake to slide around corners. Every time I tried in the wagon the front wheels would lock up and I'd skid into the ditch, couldn't figure out why.
It wasn't until years later I learned the e-brake goes to the front wheels on those old cars haha

Taco Tiger Bro has a long history being spotted (usually in Monroe). If you search this thread, you'll see it in all its glory.

Yeah it’s a fun car for sure…I really enjoy it. The spare is in an interesting spot. I’ve considered lifting it and what not, but it’s actually fairly stock still which is nice.

It makes me laugh how far forward the engines are, even on new Subarus.

In my mind, Audi did it worse, but that is thee definition of front engine.

Fixed that for you... You need to use metrics that Subaru owners can understand.

Yet still, try to get to the rear two plugs on a modern one. FML.

I would love to see inside a 3.6l. Well, love might be a strong word. Passing interest maybe?

Clearly this is why I own a BMW. I can change out all 6 plugs in about 30 minutes...while drinking.

I found you can a bit more clearance by unbolting the engine mounts and lifting the engine with a block of wood under the oil pan.. but you probably already knew that

Unbolting engine mounts to gain access to spark plugs is crazy. Subies are cool but I'm glad I don't have one for shenanigans like that.

I miss our Saab for that, and everything else except the FWD. The ignition coils were all combined into one pack. Just lift the whole cassette at once.
