I think this part is what makes this difficult. I'm used to being able to find a pretty clear answer to 'what is the least expensive _X_ you can buy, that is still somewhat decent'. For most things there a fairly solid reddit/internet consensus on what that is and how much it is from whatever community. Like 5100s and an AAL.
This is a whole different world

And the thing about that is, if we're talking suspension, that even good suspension can feel like shit.

Whether it's an un-tuned setup (which most are because they use a basic boxed tune), overly inflated tires, etc.

It's part of the reason why people like Zane will emphasize the importance of shock tuning.

I would place equal emphasis on speaker placement.

Incorrect placement (and seating position) can make or break even a great pair of speakers.

It's hard to gauge who to trust when it comes to who's opinion really matters. But in talking to someone more and more, you can gauge whether they have real experience or not.

I mean usually they don't throw more money at underperformers (unless they're the CEO or upper management, or related)

Just because you don't care for it or cause you play on console more?

We were talking Xbox recently - I've convinced myself to softmod mine

I don't have much interest anymore and really don't have the time. I was never more than a casual gamer as a kid and now I just can't be bothered anymore.

    Makes sense

It's my daily mental reset for me (at night). Definitely helps my mental health

If there's ever an old console you have that you want to sell (and I don't own) I'd be happy to entertain it!

    @Kwikvette
Think these are 1/3 as good as the Mythos? Wouldn't need a sub right away since at least these have 6.5" drivers unlike the 3.5" in the DTs, would still get one soon tho

They're entry level but a hell of a lot better than those similarly priced Sony

I'd rock those myself at that price

unironically tho., that is legit. have you seen the studies that show playing games after a traumatic experience (tetris in the case of the study) helps you process stuff / minimizes ptsd ?

There was a Sony setup I messaged someone about a couple days ago, was a basically a 3.1 setup listed for $400. All 'new' stuff, SS CS5 Towers matching sub and center, so very budget-line but I liked it since it wasn't 20+ years old.
I messaged and offer $300 for it to get the ball rolling, and all I got was 'No'. I just thought that was ridiculous. Thats a valid response for a real low-ball, but come on 300 for something listed at 400 seems like a pretty standard starting offer, especially if they don't say 'firm' or anything of the sort in the bio. Probably woulda taken it for 350-375 if she didn't just dismiss me like that
