I just recently received a notice on the app that the recall now includes vehicles with 18" wheels.

Has anyone seen what's different on the 25 and soon to be 26 rear brake lines? I can't recall seeing anything posted, I could have missed it.

More clearance with the 18" wheels, but if it's a safety recall the same potential problems could effect all trucks with the same lines.

my comment was about how to report them for unsatisfactory rollout of the fix. Not about more failures.

Toyota customer service has updated their estimate for the 17 inch wheel remedy to be in available in July, and the 18 inch wheel remedy in third quarter of 2025. Letters regarding updated July estimate for 17 inch wheels will be sent soon if not already in the mail, as well as another when remedy is truly available.

Sorry to state the obvious but Q3 includes July-september. It is not yet over. So they haven't yet missed their own deadline. Perhaps you were saying something else and I just didn't get it.

Edit: it's also possible they said Q4 but since I'm waiting for one with 17" wheels I was towards la-la land in my head when she was talking about the 18s.

Received notice my dealership has the parts. Waiting for Toyota to provide instructions before they can do the work.

I don't think it makes any less sense than having instructions for a part you don't have. Six of one....

Having instructions but no parts is the norm.

Yes. Before they had the fix parts manufactured in volume, they should've validated the repair process, which entails having draft instructions.

You may be conflating two scenarios. The lack of instructions existing and the lack of them having been distributed. The fix has already been performed on some vehicles; one was described in this thread. So obviously the instructions exist. In Toyota's rollout strategy this particular dealership has received parts a bit before instructions. Wouldn't be any different if they got instructions before parts. But obviously both exist already. None of us here will be privy to the details of how Toyota executes their overall strategy. I'm just happy it's finally coming to fruition, albeit overdue from original estimate.

^You'd expect the instructions to be in TIS i.e. centralized?

You’re the one that said the dealer had no instructions.
