sucks man... I would be crushed if I lost my truck like that and mine is mostly stock. But its paid off and I wouldn't want to be buyin a new one. I have a tile and a samsung galaxy tracker in my truck just in case.

I have Erie insurance and have had to make an accident claim around 5 years ago they were pretty good to deal with.

Beware some insurance companies will drop you if the lift is too high or if the mods sound performance-y (intake, exhaust). This varies from year to year and from underwriter to underwriter even within the same company.

Sucks man. Sorry for your loss. Anytime I have dealt with insurance, they would not cover aftermarket parts - that comes out of pocket, even if they offer it as additional coverage. As for GEICO - that little lizard makes BIG $$!!

Sorry if someone else has mentioned this. I've read all the post but may have missed this, but doesn't that truck have Safety Connect?

Since we aren’t getting any answer on the how they got it… Make sure you get an air tag and remove the speaker before you hide it. Go to the local federales and ask to speak to the Jefe. Tell him you know where it is and you have $1000 for him if his guys get it back for you in the next 30 minutes. That’s my plan.

    Stranger things have happened!

They'll confiscate your $1000, and crossing the border on the way back, you may get detained by CBP and deported to El Salvador :stirthepot:

didn't read all the pages, but check your policy for anything that mentions items being affixed to the vehicle as being under coverage. Not necessarily aftermarket parts coverage but i've had provisions in my insurance that covered "affixed items" in the past. Like back in the day, when I had theft occur, they wouldn't cover my book of CD's, but they did cover the CB radio that was bolted to the dash.

You'll get market value +TTL and then some sum for contents and add ons (like $1k). See if the dealer sold you added in any of that scammy vin etching stuff that supposedly pays you if it gets stolen.

No, but wouldn't that help with proving it's stolen to the insurance company?

why would he need to do that? he filed a claim, the police confirmed the LPR saw it going into mexico and geico will also request a copy of the PR.

you guys overthink this shit so much i'm surprised some of you can take a piss without asking your wife for permission first.

Someone mentioned it's 30 days to settle on a stolen truck. A little time on my hands and trying to help out interpreted as over thinking along with insults by a seemingly very angry poster. Vintage TW. Hopefully you took it all out on me instead of kicking the dog and smacking the wife.

if you read the thread as much as you pretended to you'd have read the part where i literally do this for a living.

all carriers have their own policy language but typically they wont move forward with an unrecovered total loss until it has been 30 days.

hope this helps. thanks for coming to my ted talk. if you have any questions about how insurance works feel free to post them here and i will answer them for you.

My wife denied me permission to take a piss. Can I file an appeal with an independent 3rd party piss consultant?
