I only buy from the Big A if their price is comparable or lower than other options. I also use camelcamelcamel to check the price history first.

    https://camelcamelcamel.com/

Watch out for any retailer that takes say a $300 item, raises it to $400 and then gives you $50 dollars off.

LMAO, that's the Black Friday special for the last decade my brother! Triple Camel is great if you want to get notified if something drops down below a certain price too!

Just my experience. I've gone through about 3-4 dashcams and have landed on the Viofo for a couple reasons. The resolution of the camera is at the high end allowing you to see the license plate clearly (that was a major detractor from the previous cams I had). The other reason is the wifi connection to your phone for ease of downloads. The one downfall maybe is that it doesn't capture the cabin video (but I think you might be able to add a couple more cameras to the setup). There is also a nice hardwire setup so you can add it to your mini fuse box for startup with truck.

Yeah man I'm with you. Not knocking the guy, he obviously did very well as a business man. But, he does not need my hard earned bucks.

@robbyk I have the older, and simpler, A119 in my truck. I got A129 Plus models for my daughters’ RAV4 and Corolla. For their cars, I got the optional low-voltage protection wiring kit and had them professionally installed, $200 each. The wiring kit is essential to power the cams while parked so it don't drain the car battery.

On my A119. I don't have that wiring kit. However, these Viofo cams have an external power connector that allows you to easily connect a battery pack.

I don't dislike the guy enough to pay hundreds of dollars more in shipping every year. Amazon reviews are a big part of the attraction for me.. first hand accounts on whether some product absolutely sucks or works for the intended purpose.

Just an FYI on reviews there. They are not always for that product I found out. Literally a lot of reviews are for other products the company sells and it gets really diluted. But, with that said, there are some really good reviews that real people add and I appreciate them for sure. The whole AI thing messing with comments and reviews though....not sure anything will matter in the future. Laws fall years and years behind technology.

I've had Renogys regular 100w panel and just picked up the shadowflux 120w to try out since my house and mosy of my campsites are shaded heavily.

I find most vendor shipping to be very reasonable, and sometimes you're find Amazon has a higher price to compensate for "free" shipping. Their prices on Amazon fluctuate like mad, and they vary for the same product sold by different vendors. "Amazon" does not equal "best deal." Plus we don't actually need everything "fastest shipping" unless we suck at planning or need consumer endorphine rushes every day.

    Nope. No "we" there fella.

If you like to shait on Amazon have at it. Just don't try to throw shade at the 101 million US households that use it (out of ~128 million households.)

So congrats on being in the 17% that don't use the retailer I guess.

[Edit: I see you are not in the US so those stats don't apply to you.]

Amazon, which did not have the 11/16 socket available, but all prices are the same:

No fan of Bezos but Amazon works hard to be the lowest price available, often to the detriment of the seller. It’s common for them to require your Amazon price to be lower than your price on other sites. If they see your product cheaper somewhere else they will threaten to pull it from Amazon. Obviously most sellers sell more on Amazon than any other site so the threat of losing that avenue is huge and really ties their hands.

LOL throw shade? Big numbers don't make something good or right, dude. Where's all our local and small businesses go? Why are you throwing shade on small business and local economies?

I'm not pretending I don't use Amazon. But I (and many others) am weaning myself from it however I can, and I strive to think about consumption habits and the greater effects they have in the world we live in. I'm just assuming I can include you in that world group "we". Marketed BS sale days like Black Friday (now running for 2 weeks) and Amazon Daze create zombie consumerism.
