Those are good. Just above each of the contacts there is what looks like a piece of copper wrapped around a very small piece of black plastic. That small piece of black plastic is a clip that needs to be moved up in relation to the picture and the corresponding wire pulled out the back. Repeat for each wire keeping track of what color came out of which contact cavity.

Thank you so much we have the clips out. Do I need to buy new clips or can I reuse these?

Since we have been going through this process, I have been thinking it would just be easier to go down to your local Pink-n-Pull and appropriate a connector and a foot of wire from some matching Toyota vehicle.

There most likely is a very small 5-digit part number on the connector somewhere.

A lot is going to depend upon what you think your capabilities are.

Let's start from the beginning: Have you given any thought to how the wires were ripped out to begin with? Likely to happen again?

How damaged is the connector, besides the 2 female contacts that is. Is the strain relief good - does it look like the other side. Examine the other side for any numbers and to compare the condition of the two plugs.

Is there enough wire left to even crimp on new female contacts and be able to make the connection to the wheel sensor.

Just curiosity, this is the right rear right? Does your speedometer work - I've heard it is the right rear sensor that primarily drives the speedometer.

I found some cheap on ebay last year.
They are right and left, you should keep a spare.

While I agree, there is enough slack to either carefully open up those crimps and tuck some wire in or butt splice it.

I was surprised, but it was noted just about any repair works here as long as the wire orientation is correct. I wholly believe that. Since if I fixed mine, well anyone can do it.

For how it happened. We think some road debris came up and hit the sensor and ripped it out. Everything else looks completely fine. It is in the back passenger left side so my speedometer is completely fine. We split back some of the wire on the harness and are going to solder the wire to the connector and we have saved all the seals for everything

I'd like to add that the wiring was reasonably watertight before. Do what you can to make it watertight again to alleviate future corrosion problems. Staggering the splice locations is always nice, so one is not rubbing the other, but you may not have the wire length necessary to do so.

Adhesive lined shrink wrap or Liquid Electrical Tape could work; don't think there is room for the shrink wrap. If you use the Liquid Tape apply several thin coats. There may be other water proofing solutions you think of.

    Good luck.

Everything should be pretty water tight we reused all the same gaskets and did not cut any of them and reconnected everything and plugged it back in and everything worked perfectly.
Just wanted to say thank you so much for the help!

You're welcome. Glad that things went reasonably fast too.

Next time I'm in a Pick-n-Pull I'll pick up a connector and wire for myself.

It is always good to see something done one has not yet done themselves(me).
